What a great turn out tonight for a Wednesday group run / meet up / get together. It almost felt like we were back to normal.... I'm hoping it wasn't just the promise of cake!

We welcomed Aoife to her first proper group run as she has only recently moved to Portsmouth.... We aim to have her knowing all the prime litter picking and good deeding spots in the next few months! Vicki was overjoyed that she finally got to wear the wings to celebrate her 100th+ good deed (a little late but better late than never right?!).

We started the evening by running a lap of the new Great Salterns parkrun course (coming soon!) or a walk of the 4 legged GG members Pip and Tess. We then dispersed all around the recreation area to pick up litter. Plenty of the usual suspects but also a few "unusual" finds. Top prize to Val and Angela for the plastic penis and a pound. Plastic bottles, plastic boxes and poo bags were the other items beginning with P!

We found a shoe and a burnt hard hat (?). Jen's group tidied up a campfire area and found a dummy, perhaps lost by the owner of the Tommy Tippee cup found in a different bit of the woods.

We filled the bin and added another bag beside it and took home the recycling to various green bins around the city.

After an appropriate amount of hand sanitising, we dived in to our celebration cakes.... We've missed so many celebrations over the last 18 months that we had to celebrate coming back together and it was easier to bring the cakes this week than last! It was also Maxine's wedding day and while she was eating her own cake in Devon, we were feeling part of the celebrations too. Maura got to start her birthday celebrations a few days early too...

All the group runs for the next 8 weeks are now on the website as well as plenty of other opportunities to get involved. See you soon!
