I am already a member of GoodGym Portsmouth but have moved out of the city and would like to see the development of GoodGym in Chichester. There is so much potential for missions and tasks in the wider Chichester area. I love combining running, helping my local community, protecting the environment and having fun with others doing the same.

Judy put out the call for empty shoe boxes for "Portsmouth Helps Ukraine" and GoodGym responded.
A variety of sizes and shapes of shoe box were delivered to the collection point at the Thatched House.
Big thanks to Mel who stepped in to do the Fratton collection and delivery.

Ellie, Abby, Mel and I each helped steward the art installation at St Mary's Church, even though very little 'stewarding' was required.
Unfortunately, there weren't so many passing visitors, although plenty attended the performance events that were held over the weekend.
But it felt like a secret treat, to spend time experiencing the melodic sounds of birdsong, water and human voices, with the mesmerising colour changes of the light installation.
Magical!

Five GoodGymers (and one Tess the dog) helped promote “Friends of Kingston Rec” to the local community. They did a really good clean up job too with some litter picking around the park, which involved collecting a lot of broken mirror pieces, 4 sacks of rubbish, and two bags of recycling. They were helped by some enthusiastic locals who managed to find the much coveted pair of pants! Is it even a litter pick if you don’t find an item of clothing?! Teamwork made the dream work getting the gazebo down in what must be a record breaking time! Then to make the most of the sunshine post mission, Jen & Ellie popped to the beach to finish off with a quick dip.

We quickly got to work picking up litter around the pond. It seemed fairly clean. Mostly cigarette butts, sweets wrappers, a sock and dog poo.
Lovely nature photographs taken during the task. Thanks to Lucy and Mel

Tonight we epitomised the "do good get fit" hashtag!
We met at Fratton CC then ran and cycled to the Package Free Larder on Elm Grove where we were met by our walking team and Clare from Share Portsmouth.
We then formed a human chain from the basement to the back door to move all the donations to Share from their store into the van (shout out to FoodCycle for the van loan!). Jo (aka Captain Detail) took charge of the van loading / life size Tetris and managed to fit everything into the back.
It was then a race as to who would get to the Cascades first... van vs human, the humans won!
We then formed another human chain and passed everything in to the store room where Val and Judy ably sorted them onto shelves in a logical order.
There was an amazing amount of stuff passes down the line including tents, baby stuff, bread maker, pasta makers, tools, lawn mowers, Flamingo Ringo.... it was like an episode of the Generation Game.
10 out of 10 tonight for a classic GoodGym task!
