It felt very sad to be heading home from tonight's task in the dark - winter evenings are coming! We made the most of the fading light with a stupendous effort clearing the pathways at the back of the Synagogue - check out Laura's before and after photos!
There were lots of cries of "OW!" as brambles fought back, and "OH NO"s as unwitting snails met unfortunate ends whilst we were working hard.

Dave and Jen arrived early to help direct the runners to the red-istration tent and the toilets, as we all know the pre race wee is a time honoured tradition!
Ellie and the aptly named Blue rocked up and learnt the course before they were to get a mauve on and lead everyone around.
Dave and Jen were then sent to Paint Station 2 to assist the Rotary Club in covering people in Canary Yellow powder.
Soon enough Ellie and Blue appeared through the trees ready to be doused and continue on their way somewhere iver the rainbow. Or in it by the looks of all the finishers! Everyone that came through were feeling grey-t and asking for more!
Once the last participant had gone through with the sweepers ensuring noone got maroon-d. Dave and Jen wandered along the route to ensure that Jen got some extra colouring!!
We were very fortunate that the weather stayed blue-tiful for the event!
It was awesome to meet Billy at his first task. Hope to see you at more soon!

After a fun day of activities in the heart of Fratton we had to pack everything away.
The red sofa needed to go home, which involved a couple of maneuvers through doorways! The chairs had to be stacked, in a new home! And the Pantry and Brigde Centre needed restoring to their former states.
The lanterns for the Fratton Together lantern parade in November (Look put for that task signup soon!!) were left out in an arrangement to showcase them for the upcoming workshops.

Dave and I counted people coming into the Bridge Centre and gave out programmes whilst enjoying the City Band playing Christmasy-sounding pop songs.
It was a lovely atmosphere - the RSPCA's big dog danced past us and Dandelion Daniel strode by and we had time to play beach ball plus a couple of retro arcade games. 🕹

Jane and I swept up the outside area to make it look welcoming to visitors.
We placed prgrammes around the site and got a green cloth for the background of the selfie sofa that Dave then modelled for!
We also ran around the area placing markers for the dandelion trail. A couple of venues were outside of the Bridge Centre so shower dodging became a new sport!

A little less dystopian future than the 1953 novel (yes, I have been down a Wikipedia rabbit hole), our task this evening took us to a very peaceful garden for a spot of weeding.
The triffids had taken over the paving, so we removed these and some other weeds between the slabs. We even had time to clear some of the stoned area, including moving a very stubborn fuschia from amongst the rocks to a much more comfortable pot.
A lovely rainbow made a brief appearance at the end of our session which felt like a little bit of a reward for a very damp task.
