Maëlys joined us for her first Group Run this evening after a visit to Baffins Pond last weekend. Maëlys is just visiting Portsmouth for a holiday, so we are super grateful she chose to spend some of her break helping out!

Our main topic of conversation this evening was cricket. We found out that Ranjitha's husband plays for Portsmouth and that several of us have been enjoying The Hundred over the last couple of weeks. We were even joined by a cricket (or perhaps a grasshopper) whilst we worked, who was particularly fond of Judy!

I'm quite gutted we didn't get a "before" photo, because the difference we made to the weedy and leafy paths was huge! Lots of effort was put in to pulling weeds, sweeping brickwork and even sawing down an ivy and bramble infested stump. Barbara was once again very please with our work - well done, everyone!

Myself and Dave spent a sunny Thursday afternoon at Mr B's, helping to trim back some of the overgrown plants near the shed.

The entire bed was entangled in a giant snake-like thorny plant, which we (very) slowly removed to help the owners to enjoy their garden. At one point, in true Indiana Jones fashion, I accidentally knocked a small boulder-like rock from the top of the mound which I managed to watch roll down the soil and straight onto Daves foot! Sorry Dave!

After a last minute change of plan after our Task Holder had to cancel, we celebrated Dave's 500th Good Deed!

It was also a perfect introductory task for Ranjitha, who joined us for her second Good Deed this evening. She even found the obligatory pair of pants behind a bench!

After half an hour of picking up packaging and pruning bushes of sweet papers, we headed over to the Brewers Tap for a celebratory drink.

Miss Cs garden had been overtaken with bindweed that had indulged itself on the recent rains and sun.

I took to it and the long grass with a mix of elbow grease, strimmer, mower and raking!

Miss C also showed me the walls the girls that used to live next door had painted for her. A lovely mural of sea, beach and palm trees complete with a menagerie of animals.
