Ranjitha Nagendra cheered by other people 25 times.
Ranjitha is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Ranjitha has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.

A little less dystopian future than the 1953 novel (yes, I have been down a Wikipedia rabbit hole), our task this evening took us to a very peaceful garden for a spot of weeding.
The triffids had taken over the paving, so we removed these and some other weeds between the slabs. We even had time to clear some of the stoned area, including moving a very stubborn fuschia from amongst the rocks to a much more comfortable pot.
A lovely rainbow made a brief appearance at the end of our session which felt like a little bit of a reward for a very damp task.

Ranjitha Nagendra earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ranjitha completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ranjitha was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

We had good fun this morning, joining the Community Spotlight team for the second of their monthly litter picks at Hilsea Station.
We had to use our contortion skills to manipulate litter between the railings through to our rubbish bags. Jen enjoyed a small climbing escapade to retrieve a giant plastic screen. With the assistance of Dave, a rake was also retrieved. This was then donated to one of the other volunteers who had just the other day been thinking he needed a new rake!
We were also able to advice a young man which train he needed to get - our South Western Railways hi-vis had led to him thinking we were station staff.

Our task this evening was a bit different to the gardening sessions we've had for most of our Group Runs this summer. We found ourselves instead trying to drum up participants for the Portsmouth Coastal Marathon. A fab local charity, The Elizabeth Foundation, have kindly been given four charity spaces by Believe and Achieve, but they are yet to find runners to take them - enter GoodGym!
We enjoyed a windy but scenic tour of Portsmouth city centre, with new routes and areas being discovered by some members of the group. We visited Community Centres, supermarkets and Gyms, where we distributed posters and flyers. Top campaigner was Richard, who had all but convinced a gentleman at Box Fitness to take a place whilst we there!
We rounded off the evening with a cheeky drink at the Guildhall Village to toast our good work. Nice one, guys!
