The fields were ploughed. The seed was scattered. They were fed and watered, possibly by a higher being. The snows were sent in winter, along with warmth to swell the grain, breezes, sunshine and soft refreshing rain. Stuff grew. It was harvested and ended up as donations at yesterday’s Harvest Festival. Today I have stacked it all on the shelves ready for Foodbank tomorrow. The cupboard and a no longer bare!

The rain stayed away and the job of crowd control with a rope was given to me - oh the power! The adult 5k was eclipsed by the hundreds of young people showing us oldies how to do it. The future of running in Portsmouth is bright.
Even Brendan Foster showed up for a morning in sunny Southsea!
