2 GoodGymers made their way to Baffins for the monthly litter pick after parkrun. It was a nice cool day after yesterdays sun. We found some interesting litter including a water pistol. The best find was some school notes on relationships and making babies! We did have a good read, but I don’t think we learnt anything new! We checked in on Buggingham Palace after the litter pick, the rooms were still quite well furnished and the guests seemed happy. We rounded off a lovely morning with a drink and cake at Beenys.

2 goodgymers helped out at Great Salterns parkrun. It was a very enjoyable start to the day. We timed and helped scan 60 vrunners; some of whom were accompanied by their very friendly and gorgeous canine running partners 😍

It was the first race of the truncated Lakeside 5k series.
We were tasked with a little bit of table lifting and shifting; number allocations; important instructions about emergency contact details; finish funnelling and (most importantly) coffee drinking!
There were a few busy moments of numbers being collected and alphabet skills being tested but everyone who came to run ended up with a number on their vest and at the start line on time.
A beautifully warm summer evening for us, a bit too hot for the runners. Fortunately no need for the bucket at the end!

One Goodgymmer made their way to Great Salterns parkrun to time in the rain. 35 runners were all correctly timed, the sun came out and we didn’t get too wet!

because the sea-weed.
Team GG headed to the beach to give it a good clean.
The standard array of rubbish was found: pants, socks and a hat made for a lovely new outfit.
I found a nice little crab friend and the swans with new baby thanked us as we left.
Laura and mimi GG-er Jack were experts in keeping their wellies on in the unexpected deep areas! and the short showers were very unwelcome!
A nice new hubcap, a few vapes and a very rusty paintcan. And Yvonne got her GG recruitment head on whilst picking all the microplastics out of the seaweed!

There was a very good turn-out today from GoodGym for Havant parkrun with a mix of runners and volunteers all helping to put GG Portsmouth on the Havant map. Well done everyone.
Every week at parkrun we hear the Run Director saying your PB can wait for another week and to stop and help fellow runners. I was surprised to see a fellow GG’er being helped back to her feet on the first lap. Poor Nia had taken a tumble and sustained cuts to her hands and knees. We walked back to the start where Dave took over with First-Aid and I completed my second lap. I hope you heal soon Nia.
Other than that it was a beautiful day for a run with a light breeze in all the right places. It was lovely to see everyone again. Thanks to Dave for the photos.

Big thanks to John and Dave for helping me after my tumble. Not quite how I was planning to promote GoodGym! My knees aren't quite so painful today so hopefully I'll heal soon and be back to conquer Havant parkrun!
