It's Not Easy Being Green!

Portsmouth Report written by Jen Stoneham

Our final Sunday at Eastney Junior parkrun as part of the January Challenge happened to fall on the same day as their 9th birthday, so we got to celebrate with fancy dress, homemade fudge and lots of crazy runners!

It's Gold for Team GG!

Portsmouth Report written by Jen Stoneham

Amazing work on the medal collection this week, delivered to Craig from Runr whilst at Junior parkrun today.

An epic 111 medals were donated, which will all go to services supporting children in sport to help with motivation and promoting lifelong health and activity.

Gassy boot, no kinky boots

Portsmouth Report written by Dave Moore

After the fun of Junior Parkrun, we split into 2 teams, we helped to clear the park and the kids playground of rubbish.

Team Playground saw Laura and Katie keen eyed in collecting a load of micro plastic whilst the kids enjoyed a mix of picking and playing!

Team Centre had Aoife claiming the picking crown finding a football boot (just one obviously!) and a bottle of nitro gas. Dave and Nia had the fun job of picking up all the thrown down ciggy butts!

A Titanic Task!

Portsmouth Report written by Jen Stoneham

We were back at Eastney Junior parkrun for the third Time this January to lend a hand and make running fun for kids.

Following on from a request from last week, Jen and Alice delivered a Titanic themed warm-up for the children, accompanied by the haunting pipes of Celine Dion through a Bluetooth speaker. Anyone walking by the park this morning must have been very confused!

Laura and Dave walked the course with mini GG-er Jack, who was very impressed with Dave's ability to guess his finish position precisely. Aoife was on scanning duties whilst Nia kept everyone safe and motivated as a marshal.

Great job again this morning, everyone, looking forward to seeing you next week for the green themed parkrun birthday celebration!
