GG Yorkies celebrated a truly awesome year with a Christmas shindig and our end of year awards ceremony!

After a presentation and the end of year video - it was the bit everyone was waiting for, award time. This year's award winners were....

  • PPE-wearer of the Year - Mel for those amazing waders

  • The Goodfeller - Ellie B for an outstanding year of coppicing, felling and sawing

  • Bad Jim - Max, for always causing trouble and leading the late-night bad gym crew...

  • Best Run Report - Nick for the quite hilarious Rebel without a Claus

  • Most Improved Runner - Carl for boshing loads of goals and repeated PBs

..and then we moved onto our two big prizes, with trophies and everything.

The "Goody-Two-Trainers" Award for the goodest GG Yorkie

This award went to the exceedingly good Leanne Allsopp who has so far completed an enormous 155 good deeds this year, as well as being an awesome run leader and super organised when I forget stuff, lose the cape etc etc.

The Egg Cup for GG Yorkie of the Year

This year's GG Yorkie of the Year Award, and winning the coveted egg cup, is the amazing Tim McKenzie who has been a huge part of the GG community this year; he has organised all our socials, including the absolutely fantastic pre-marathon pasta party which saw over 70 goodGym folk from all over the country come together. He has also just become a run leader and is super keen to start leading some groups next year. Well done Tim!

Tim followed the prize-giving with his own presentation about his journey to becoming the World's Greatest Runner, it was quite long so I'll summarise the main message for you: share your experiences and join an awesome group because it makes running much more fun.

After the presentations, everything descended into chaos. Debs had brought Twister, Mitch and Katie had a lunge race back from the bar which then turned into a series of lunge drinking/lunging/walk-out competitions and then we witnessed three Griffins going head to head on the Twister board.

It's a Griff-off!

Merry Christmas everybody!
