Hurray! Today is Elle's 100th task. And she is an absolute superstar. Before our clear up and clean at Planet Food she was out on another task sprucing up the raised beds and weeding the outdoor space at this magical community food hub.
Elle has been doing numerous tasks every week for months now. And what has that done for her? 1. She has made loads of new friends and is very much part of the community 2. She has got fitter and stronger - she sees GoodGym as a form of rehabilitation and is very happy about that. 3. She feels good to be doing good.
It really is a three-for-the-price-of-one for lovely Elle.
Each week we clean and clear tables, put away the chairs, hoover and sweep, clear the bins and get the community centre ready for the next people and activities. But behind the scenes of Planet Food are other wonderful people rescuing surplus food, cooking delicious affordable meals from food that would otherwise go to landfill, enabling people to fill their cupboards with decent groceries, making jam and chutneys from excess produce and washing up and chatting in between.
It really is a team effort and it is joyous to be part of that community. Three Cheers for Elle.

Aww, thank you Bec! As I told you today, my first task for GoodGym was Planet Food last June and I was afraid to carry the tables as the right side of my body was still unpredictability weak... 8 months in and I'm carrying tables! I still advise you keep clear 😂, but GoodGym is the best form of rehabilitation!
