GoodGymmers representing a fair few of the 50 areas from across the country descended on Gleadless in Sheffield to help Terrific Tim and his team plant nearly a thousand trees.

It was wormageddon as we set to with our spades, planting...

  • Birch
  • Mountain ash
  • Wild cherry
  • Crab apple
  • Oak
  • Black poplar
  • Alder buckthorn
  • Field maple
  • Guelder rose

...Either by notch, pit or L planting (it takes years of experience to make it look at easy as Tim did in his demonstrations!)

A fine time was had by all, and we even found time for a Bakewell Tart Off towards the end of the mission.

Till next time... Happy running. And indeed planting too.

(No trees were actually felled during the mission...)
