What a total mare

Sometimes even the best laid plans turn into, politely put, manure.

Last night we kicked off the session brimming with enthusiasm for a new task at a local riding school. It was in conjunction with the brilliant Cultivate London, and the plan was to collect horse manure to make their lovely garden plots grow big and strong.

Unfortunately after a slightly longer run up there, we were greeted by a less than friendly lady who had other ideas. Let it be said that GoodGym Hounslowers are a lot of things - pro cake eaters, enthusiastic (though perhaps not expert) horticulturalists, squatters beyond compare - but wheelbarrow thieves we are not.

So after after a bit of a fruitless mission we decided to run back to Turnham Green (stopping for a photo opp outside the North Korean embassy of course) and turn the night around with a speed circuit session. All the energy that would have been spent on shoveling was instead channeled into high knees, mountain climbers, fast feet, tricep dips and more. After that there was even time for a quick abs blast.

It was a frustrating turn of events, but as Lucy put it, we still got to see our mates and do a fitness session, while Luis added that this was one session that would go down in GG Hounslow history!
