4 of us had a good run to Hyde Park Source tonight where we litter picked around Rosebank. The whole area had so much litter, so we had our work cut out and filled a bag each. It was also great to chat to so many locals & one had been picking litter himself earlier tonight, so it was nice to know the community are doing something about the mess as well! Welcome to newcomer Naomi who has recently moved to Leeds from London. We hope to see you again soon :)

Tonight the sun came out for 5 members of GoodGym Leeds to run together to the allotments on Woodhouse Moor to support Hyde Park Source.
We weeded and tidied up a large area of the allotments. Laura also managed to get nettled 7 times!!
These are community allotments which help vulnerable people in the community come together to grow food. They also have some beehives which were great to see.
Another great job everyone 👏

6 of us from GoodGym Leeds headed down to Hyde Park Source tonight to clip hedges & litter pick.
It was great to have two newcomers join us. The weather was perfect & we got 5 bags full of litter & the hedges looked much neater.
Good work everyone!

We had a great time in the sun playing litter pick bingo tonight at Rosebank.
We had a very warm welcome from our new meeting point at Heart and may get some more requests for missions from them. There was also some interest from their members in joining us. Bingo!!!

The bank holiday got off to a good start as 4 goodgymers gathered to help out at The Lost Plot (thankfully we found it!). We warmed-up to prepare for a longer route around Woodhouse Moor, enjoying the evening sunshine, and made our way to the allotments. As we arrived , we made sure that we reached 2 km (you can't stop at 1.9km!)
Weeds have shot up over the last few weeks, so help from Goodgym was needed to stop them from getting out of control. We enjoyed being able to see - last time we were here we were in the dark - and enjoy looking at the progress that has been made since we were here last. We met our host Alex and her dog , Ferris, and were given our implements to start pulling out the weeds. Ferris wasn't much help , but who can blame him when it's his day off...
Prize for most dedicated goes to Helen - she didn't want to stop, even after being stung by some pesky nettles.
We finished off with a trip to Hyde Park Book Club, to raise a drink to the long weekend. Enjoy, everyone!

Fresh from parkrun, Helen and I headed over to Rosebank gardens for some litter picking.
Unfortunately there was a lot of litter to pick today , which seemed like it could have been remnants of the night before.
Undettered by the amount of litter , we set off around the gardens and got to work filling our bags of rubbish. This week we had the help of a four-legged friend, Doogle, who assisted by carrying extra bags and helped us find the rubbish.
Among the strangest finds was a childrens bicycle, which was a bit too bulky to fit in the bag.
In a little over an hour we managed to fill 5 bags of rubbish! Its made a real difference so we will visit again soon to make sure we keep on top of it. We could always do with extra hands :)
Next week: Come and join us at Woodhouse Moor parkrun for their 700th event.
