Leeds Report written by Helen Noyes
9 GoodGym Leeds members completed several tasks at Left Bank tonight. The biggest challenge was to transform 3 beer barrels and some planks of wood into an attractive and functional bench. Much scratching of heads and wielding of power tools and saws eventually resulted in a sort of bench...well we liked it! Other tasks tonight included general weeding, litter picking and filling raised beds with compost. Left Bank staff very generously rewarded us with a round of drinks and we enjoyed seeing the various clubs doing their things inside. A warm welcome to Alina doing her first GoodGym Leeds task.

Looks like so much fun! Incredibly sad I missed out!

Tonight 7 GoodGymers ran up to Bedford Fields once again to transfer wheelbarrows full of soil from one part of the garden to another to create a large raised flower bed.
It was rather muddy after yet more rain but we don't mind getting a bit mucky at GoodGym Leeds!
It's also nice to know that in a couple of weeks, we'll no longer need our head torches on a Wednesday evening, which is always a good thing when you're doing outside work.
Good work tonight team!

Tonight 8 GoodGymers ran to Ash Road Residents Association in Headingley to help them garden a plot of land near Batcliffe woods. Half the group weeded & planted bulbs & the other half litter picked the local area. We were going to paint outdoor stones but it was a bit wet & Jane forgot to bring the them indoors so that they could stay dry, so we'll roll that into another session.
It was great to see such a big group on a Wednesday & to welcome Adam back.
Thanks to Jane from the residents association for being so organised with tools/pickers etc.
Good work team!

9 GoodGymers had a 5K Run to go and see the Christmas lights around Headingley, followed by Christmas drinks and food at Heart, our regular meeting spot. The food was great and we all agreed that we should have more socials in 2024! We had a quiz and games with prizes which we all enjoyed, even if the questions were on the difficult side! We also took the opportunity to do some brainstorming for GoodGym Leeds 2024 so we can make it another great year.
What did we learn? Adam plays the long game when doing a quiz... If you have a nice pen set, you need to count them before you let Katie Presley leave... Helen is an amazing run leader... When Laura's having a nice time, she forgets to take photographs... Katie Lees hates Bailey's...
Thanks guys & see you in 2024 :)

Tonight 7 GoodGymers ran up to Bedford Fields Community Garden in Hyde Park to chop up many, many twigs & branches in order to add them to the dead hedge on the border of the garden.
We then ran down to a residential street to do more....7 GoodGymers in a bin store, in the dark & rain....no rats though (thank goodness)! We know how to have a good time hehe!!
It was lovely to see Nessa at her first session and congratulations to Kat on your 50th mission! That's a great achievement!
