What a lovely evening! In very humid weather, Helen led us up to Bedford Fields with a bit of Japanese style slow jogging...we got in formation & recreated the craze (& felt like proper wally's).
We met the rest of the gang at Bedford & got to work clearing the stones from the path. We then weeded the edges to finish the job.
We spent a lot of time chatting tonight...it was too hot to work. That's our excuse anyway!
Well done to Rachael on her 105th task tonight.

Two questions were posed tonight:
Is that a cow or a sheep?
Are leaks just big spring onions?
The answers to those questions are as follows: Sheep & No, but they re in the same family!
Tonight, we were at Meanwood Farm for wheel hoeing, planting leaks and weeding. We love it down there and always get a good variety of tasks. Surprisingly though, we weren't asked to turn compost for the first time....Helen's disappointment was palpable.
Another great evening, thanks all.

We are a small charity with limited resources, so jobs like this often fall by the wayside. It helps us to continue to focus on our core work, but also with compost, it means we can have less inputs and save money

On a hot hot hot evening, Rachael led the team on a chatty, sweaty jog along the ridge up to Bedford Fields. They weeded, wood chipped & ate gooseberries in the shade.
Thanks to Rachael for leading & to everyone else for turning up in this heat!
Welcome to Christopher who completed his first session.

What an amazing group we had this evening with 9 newcomers all joining us!
We headed to Bedford Fields for lots and lots of weeding! It was lucky we had 22 people, because for an hour, all we did was pull out the sticky weed & bindweed & although we made a good dent in it, there's always more weeding to do.
We found the strangest thing amongst the weeds, a pair of false teeth! Now that's a new one.
Welcome to James, Joanne, Lukas, Emily, Fabiha, Aden, Abi, James & Deepa! And thanks to Erica for bringing more work colleagues! We hope to see you all again soon.

On day 3 of our camping trip, after Jason's breakfast station nearly blew Helen away, we headed first for breakfast at North Yorkshire Water Park & then to start our activities.
Half the group braved the wind on the lake for a relaxing canoe ride, the rest of the group were not so relaxed....
We put on our wetsuits to tackle the inflatable obstacle course on the lake. Monkey bars, high drops, slides & climbing frames were all part of the fun & I don't think I've laughed so much in ages! Alice was the surprise superwoman of the group, tackling high drops & climbing frames with ease, I however bottled the high jump & did the slide instead.
What a great way to finish the trip. We all stuck together & helped each other as we went. All in all, a great team building experience!
