Tonight 11 GoodGymers ran up to Bedford Fields where we did a variety of tasks involving a pond, a couch and sticky weed!
One group created a larger mound for the edge of the new pond, some of the boys took great satisfaction in breaking up an old couch and some of us pruned and pulled up lots and lots of sticky weeds.
There were many nettle stings and a few crawling insects but Jubz did his obligatory pose with not only a spade but with sledge hammer too, so all is well with the world!
We welcomed Nazia to GoodGym tonight, we hope to see you again soon!!
We made a big impact in an hour so well done all!!

Once again we visited the OWLS allotment on Ash Road to help clear weeds and make the paths accessible for the elderly members of the group to use. Moira met us there and told is how impressed everyone has been at the work we have done so far. We quickly got to work, concentrating our efforts on pulling up bindweed and clearing stubborn dandelion and docks embedded in the paths. The results were impressive....it's amazing how much difference 9 pairs of hands can make with an hour's concerted effort. We welcomed Jack for his first task and Christian and Hashim returning newbies.

Alina (she/her) has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Alina is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Alina (she/her) earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Alina completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Alina was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

9 GoodGym Leeds members completed several tasks at Left Bank tonight. The biggest challenge was to transform 3 beer barrels and some planks of wood into an attractive and functional bench. Much scratching of heads and wielding of power tools and saws eventually resulted in a sort of bench...well we liked it! Other tasks tonight included general weeding, litter picking and filling raised beds with compost. Left Bank staff very generously rewarded us with a round of drinks and we enjoyed seeing the various clubs doing their things inside. A warm welcome to Alina doing her first GoodGym Leeds task.
