Tonight was our spring social & what great weather for it!
We ran straight to OWLS allotments where we spent around 40 minutes weeding & moving compost. We worked fast so that we could get to the park for our game of rounders. We got into two teams of 9/10 people & started the game. I don't think we 100% stuck to the rules but no one cares, we just have fun with it! We all had 3 bats each & I'm proud to say our team won with a score of 10 & a half to 8 & a half rounders. Well done gang!
We then headed to the pub for food & drinks. Poor Shannen got asked for ID so couldn't buy her alcohol free beer (yes really)...I'd take it is a compliment Shannen!
Welcome to Lydia on her first session, we hope to see you again soon. Thanks also to Erica for bringing everyone she knows to GoodGym:)
Thanks for a great evening all!

Tonight we said goodbye to our friend Christian who's moving back to Nigeria. Where will we be without our very own GoodGym Leeds superman, the fittest of us all, the hardest working, photo dodging, fruit eating machine?! Christian, I speak for all of us when I say we're going to miss you so much! We look forward to hearing about your new journey wearing your Yorkshire flat cap!!!
We ran to Left Bank tonight to wash many wedding chairs. The production line worked with everyone washing, Adam steaming, Katie & I drying & Helen organising it all! Then we got to finish off with a pint & present giving ceremony for Christian. He got his flat cap, Yorkshire mix sweets & tea bags as well as a card with pictures of all his best bits!
It was great to welcome so many newcomers too. Joao, Sourav, Jacob, Amara & Sarah thanks for coming & we hope to see you again soon.

Leeds Report written by Leeds runner
On the weekend (oooops), four GoodGymers made their way to Hollywood Bowl for a social bowling. Although it was an unlimited night with a 3 hour slot, I didn't think we'd stay long enough to see it all through but suprisingly we got very close before we all decided to be sensible and go home but time flies when you're having fun!
We all had our moments of glory and not so much glory. Eva came to just have fun and didn't care about her score... until she started demolishing us and getting a strike. Alice bucked her trend of getting 7-8-9s, by finally getting her first strike which was witnessed by the entire venue (or we were all nattering away and she had to celebrate this glory by herself).
Whilst in the other games, Eva and Alice took their turns to be the best, Adam had the highest scores in the game. So when it was the final round of the final game, he was on 101 points and I trailed behind on 83-something, it was impossible for me to catch up. Unless... I happened to get a strike and then had to follow it up with at least a 9 to pip him to it. Which is exactly what happened - strike and a 9 with a final miss to give me the win with a 102 points 🤭
What a fun night, lets do it again!

'I have maggots in my....' you know the rest!!
Last night, we had a great time at Leeds Grand Theatre watching The Book of Mormon. It was so good, we're all playing the sound track on repeat!
Thanks for a fun night all.

What a great weekend the GoodGym Leeds crew just had!
We headed up to near Appletreewick in the Yorkshire Dale's for a night of camping.
Camping & Clueless: My lack of camping skills were on full display & along with a borrowed, very sad looking tent, we set up our pitch. Adam & Eva were the heroes of the hour as they'd luckily brought a spare that Alice and I could use. Thanks so much guys! We were warm & dry which somehow I doubt we would have been in the other one.
We then headed off for a 5 hour hike around the beautiful dales, the highlight being the waterfall at the Valley of Desolation, some ducklings & the Yorkshire Dales ice cream. Jason managed to get a squelchy boot but luckily we had no other incidents!
We then headed back for some food in Addingham and a camp fire with roasted marshmallows in the evening.
The next morning we packed up (I made a mess of that too) & headed for breakfast before setting off home. Thanks to Jason for his tea/coffee set up in the morning.
Thanks so much to Jubz for his organisation skills & his very thorough spreadsheet & for bringing the fire. You did a great job. And to Katie Lees for her map reading on the walk & to everyone else for their help during Tent Gate!!
Welcome back to Eva, it was great to have you along for the weekend :)
Helen was the superhero, cycling to & from the campsite and just casually throwing in an 8 mile run on Sunday morning for good measure! We're all in awe if you!
Thanks all, until next year...

Tonight we went back to St Stephen's Church Hall to get more of their overgrown garden cleared. We cleared many many prickly plants....how exactly do prickles get on the inside of your gardening gloves?! We got stuck in and cleared a large area, improving what we did last week. It's now ready for planting. Well done team!
