In the words of Rachel, 'what a wholesome evening!'
After a very hot run, it was so nice to be back up at the OWLS allotments on a lovely warm evening. We weeded several beds & paths & as there was 13 of us, we made a huge difference by the time we left. I'm always amazed by how much we can get done in an hour! This will allow the OWLS service users to focus on the fun stuff, planting and seeing to all the vegetables they're planting this summer.
Welcome to Ankita on her first Wednesday session & welcome back to Kawan.

It was great to have such a big group tonight, with 15 GoodGymers running up to Bedford Fields to do various jobs. It wouldn't be Bedford Fields without a wood chip workout, so we wood chipped all the paths, cleared and chopped up debris, sieved soil & Jubz dug a big hole to lay a pipe and then filled it all back in.
Welcome to newcomers Annie & Laura & welcome back to Kawan who last joined us in 2020 (thanks for the bike ride)!
Thanks all & great work everyone.

What a great night with the GoodGym Leeds gang! Last night, we met at Heart and ran up to Beckett Park, where we finally got to play a game of rounders. it was great fun and we definitely got better the more we played! Even though there were less people on Helen's team, they still won with 8 rounders over our 6.5...Well done guys!
Everyone loved the game, so this is something we're going to do more of now the nights are lighter.
We finished off by running up to the Wetherspoons for a drink & some chips.
Thanks for a great night all & welcome to an honorary member for the night, Jack.

Leeds Report written by Helen Noyes
Five of us GoodGymers met up at the Headingley Greengrocer to help clear an upstairs storeroom and load cars with boxes and old Christmas trees to take to the dump. It's amazing how well Christmas trees can survive until April! Welcome to Matthew on his first GoodGym task.

Tonight, 11 GoodGymers celebrated the return of the lighter evenings! It's felt like a long winter, so spirits were high tonight.
We headed up to Stainbeck United Reformed Church to clear an area of brambles by the car park. We pruned, trimmed, brushed, litter picked & filled 3 huge sacks of debris. We could notice a huge difference when we left, well done team! Lydia got stuck into the brambles, picking all sorts of weird & wonderful things out including a car wheel, a radio & several items of clothing.
Helen took us on a magical mystery tour on the run back to Heart, encountering a bomb shelter & two horses who didn't bat an eyelid as we ran through their field. We must have made friends since last time!
Welcome to David who joined us this evening and Lyn who organised the session.
Great work team!
