So aside from the 3rd GoodGym Olympics, the 2nd every nationwide race occurred the week leading up to it. This was an idea to try and allow folks who couldn’t attend the opportunity to get involved in some Olympic spirit, alongside the folks who were attending.

The Race itself was a 1k run which could take place anywhere during the week, as long as it was recorded on Strava and included the #goodgymolympics2019 tag.

So it was named nationwide and nationwide it was having entries from Portsmouth all the way to Wales. We even went future than the UK and had an international effort, recording an effort from Portugal!! Thank you so much for all taking part and thank you everyone for sending me over your results last week, so without further ado here are the results.

Biggest climb: The international effort of Marta Campos got the best climb, clocking in a mega elevation of 116m in a KM. Corr that is some effort, well done

Best Strava Art: We had some good efforts here, ranging from a Kingston K, a GG symbol, an emoji Poo, however best in show was the fantastic thumbs up, ran by Maxine van Stratum Grohol. Big shout out to the design and prep from Jenna and Jane for the GG sign.

Alphabet: Storming through the Streets of Bristol, no one could challenge Matt Garnetts effort of 13 different letters, s y m c d t k r l q b p a was a mighty fine effort. I had a look at making words from these and the best I could manage was sparkly. Well done Matt

Photographer: A great team effort from Portsmouth here, love a human pyramid, cracking work, so medal goes to Katie Carew-Robinson for team Portsmouth photo. Speedster: So all I will say is photo finish was required.

Speedster female: So a matter of mili seconds separated our top three With Katie CR effort 04:14 was pipped to 2nd place by not one but two runners. Emily Cotterill and Lucy Marsh efforts 04:13 could not be separated so come in as joint second, with Joanna Kitchin coming in first with 03:56 Cracking stuff.

Speedster male: Not only is he a alphabet champ but also the fastest man in Bristol (tbc) flying in 03:04 took gold, with fellow Bristol runner Richard Giddings coming in 2nd with 03:41 and David McCullough in 3rd in 03:59.

Lucky dip: Who doesn’t like a raffle, so last but not least the remaining runners were put in a draw and I am delighted to announce Jane Yelloly bagged the winning run and a medal is on it way to you. Results. So the remaining results are put up on the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18ivFsyDW34WYWKCjqT20T2HTBuJudH1sFZ9fV15E1Lo/edit#gid=0

All that’s is left to be said is I will be contacting winning folks via email to get medals and paper certificates to them in the post. Thank you again for your patience with the results and thanks again for taking part. Nice on, Tom
