Let's All Run An Ultra!

Do something amazing; be a team player!


Dearest GoodGym family, will you do something amazing with me?

This year I aimed to run my first Ultra marathon (any distance longer than a marathon). I was signed up and pretty much ready to go with the 50km Canalathon due to take place in March but alas, lockdown came and all races were cancelled.

But what if we don't need an expensive entry fee, a Race Director or a blingy medal? Maybe the streets of Liverpool offer all the adventures a person could need...

My birthday is on 14 September. I don't want any presents, I just want to run an Ultra. Will you help me to celebrate?

On Saturday 12 September, to celebrate turning 36 years old, I'll run 36 miles (58km) around Liverpool, taking in some of the best sights and sounds and the prettiest parks. Will you run with me?

I'll share the exact route soon but I'm looking for GG-ers to meet me at key points and run with me. Whether you've only got 3km in the tank or you want to challenge yourself to run 20km, I'd love to have your company... and refreshments please ;)

The pace will be similar to that of a GoodGym Group Run and there will only be one or two big hills.

I'm planning the route to finish at a pub and inviting everyone (runners and non-runners) to come and have a drink and some social time with the team.

What to look out for

Age Restriction

GoodGym welcomes anyone aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 then you will be unable to participate in any GoodGym activity

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety when running and at a task.

This event is organised by your Taskforce, a group of experienced GoodGym members in your area, they are not responsible for your safety. You should feel confident to participate in the event as it is described and you do so at your own risk.

New runners are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

There's a place to leave bags and a toilet at the start point, all you need to do is bring your trainers. It's free to try - get involved!
