Blustery Junior parkrun ☔️ ! 𝗡𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 🎊

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 #𝟱𝟮 – 𝗡𝗼 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 🎊 We do believe in the parkrun weather fairies! We do! We do! 🌦 What looked set to be a wash-out turned into a bright and breezy morning, just in time for us to celebrate a special volunteer milestone at today's event 🎈 Do you remember what it was? 𝕆 ff we go! Let's start with participants – 45 this morning 🏃🚶🤸 We hope you enjoyed your 2km (and your Celebrations at the finish line 😋) ℕ ever done a parkrun before? That was 4 of you today – welcome to the parkrun family 🌱🌿🌳 𝔼 ntertainment was provided once again by musical RD Trev 🎶 who distributed tambourines and various shakey things to marshals and himself took on the role of train whistle-blower. All aboard the Florence Park Express 🚂

ℍ ow fast?! 7 of you ran new personal best times this morning 🌬 𝕌 mbrellas! We brought ours from the kit locker ready for the next downpour and are sure that's the reason the rain stopped. (You're welcome!) ℕ ote to self, High Fives are coming back! 𝔻 on't stop moving – Ben's doing the warm-up! Thanks for bringing the energy when we were all a little damp Ben 💫 ℝ ound of applause for Mayim on reaching her half marathon milestone and Eshan on his marathon 👏 We hope you will treasure your wristbands. 𝔼 xtra special thank you to the 20 hi-vis (and waterproof) heroes who volunteered to make today's event happen 🦺 You're all awesome 👌 𝔻 on't stop reading! Have you guessed yet? Correct! ONE HUNDRED for our very own Event Director Kieran's incredible 100 volunteer milestone 💯 Kieran took over as ED shortly after the parkrun restart last year and has gone above and beyond his role to make Florence Park juniors the super special event it is 🌳 And his parkrun volunteering doesn't stop there! Kieran has been influential in the launch of Oxfordshire's newest 5k event, University Parks parkrun, which welcomed over 300 participants at it's inaugural event yesterday 👋 Kieran's passion and dedication have inspired others to try parkrun for themselves, and his 100 volunteer credits still don't truly reflect the extent to which he has enriched the parkrun community ☺ On behalf of your whole parkrun family Kieran - thank you 🧡
