It was a great task this evening as we visited Somerleyton Gardens again, this time to lay some new paths with wood bark (and no, thats not Woody pretending to be a dog).
Half of the gang were digging up the grass for a new section of path while the other half of the gang were pulling up grass between wild flowers, where the rest of the bark (woof woof) would be laid.
Each time we visit we make a great impact on Somerleyton Gardens, I need to find some old photos of our first ever visit to do some comparisons.
I love the group photo underneath the tree full of blossom.

Myself, Poppy, Eloise, Woody and Jonathan headed to Somerleyton Gardens.
Poppy and Eloise did an amazing job clearing and raking over the garden bed area while the boys did a litter pick.
Once we had completed the said tasks, we all then helped to lay some shingle down, which really enlightened the gardens.

This week we visited Somerleyton Gardens for the first time this year, to give it some TLC after the winter so far.
There was plenty of tidying up to do, as you can see from the before and after photos.

This evening marked the launch of GoodGym's partnership with Raleigh, so there will be lots of information and initiatives in the coming weeks to mark that.
We returned to Somerleyton Gardens this evening to continue with the community garden project that we've been highly involved in.
A big welcome to Emma, who was doing her first GoodGym good deed!
Also, a huge well done to Woody for completing the London Marathon the day before!
As you can see from the photos, there were lots of tasks that needed doing (and were completed).
We were generously supplied with refreshments from one of the local residents to keep the energy levels up.
I modeled one of the too of the range Raleigh bikes, as you can see in the first photo.

Our first visit this year to Somerleyton Gardens.
It was great to see Pam and Cate again, and we helped them clear a large weeded vegetable plot and then covered it over with lovely smelling manure.
Before we left, we filled up some large flower beds with compost.

Tonight 9 Goodgymers ran 2km to Somerleyton Gardens to lend a few hands to the communal garden.
3 Cheers to Laura who joined us for her first GoodGym task this evening!
Once we arrived, Pam split us into 2 groups to work on 2 areas of the garden. The first group were asked to cut back a tree to allow more light into the vegetable patch. After some great work with a saw, all that remained is a trunk ready to be dug out on our next visit in two weeks.
The second group helped to turn the soil and dig out any dead grass, even breaking a fork in the process!
After nearly 1 hour we had over 20 bags filled with leaves, branches and grasses!
We will be returning in a few weeks with the promise of more great smelling vegetables, herbs and chilli's.
