Tonight 13 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 6km to Eaton Park in the sunshine.
At the task we met Helen and Linda from the Friends of Eaton Park, who gave out tools to help tidy up the pétanque pitch.
We used trowels and delicate fingers to pull up any weeds, being careful not to tear or pierce the underlying mesh lining. After filling a wheelborrow full of weeds, we used rakes and brushes to level out the gravel.
High Five's to Tom who joined us on his first Good Deed!
After a swift 30mins the pitch was looking in a much better shape. Helen thanked us for our efforts and told us about many exciting events taking place in the park over the summer, such as bands playing, wildlife talks and late licence opening hours of the cafe! Take a look on their website & socials for more info!

On a somewhat grey summer evening, 11 GoodGymers braved the clouds and ran and cycled to Burges Road in Mile X to continue working on the wonderful community garden.
Our main mission was to conquer a mountain of soil in a neighbouring plot. Equipped with shovels, wheelbarrows and rakes, the team worked diligently, rotating roles to move the soil into the garden and distribute it strategically to create the foundation of a lovely large raised bed at the heart of the garden.
In addition to team soil shifting, Jonathan focused on propagating strawberries and digging up invasive nettles. The team also moved large logs to clear the space where we uncovered a fabulous frog!
The mission was made even more special as we welcomed Liz to GoodGym and Stephen celebrated his 25th good deed!
An extraordinary display of teamwork and determination and a testament to what we can achieve in a short time 💪🏻

Tonight 11 GoodGymer's ran or cycled 4km to support Aslake Growers Community Garden.
With a lot of recent rain there were plenty of overgrown areas than needed some attention. We split into groups around the site to pull up any weeds and unwanted plants.
The sycamore had become particularly invasive, growing to heights over 2 metres so Alina took on the task of cutting it back with loppers and a saw.
The raised beds were given a thorough tidy up, with more soil added and sifted ready for planting.
And the perimeter bank of the building was completely cleaned up, pleasing some GoodGymer's who were able to work at waist height without any back aches!
Shout out to Katy and Bill who brought with them freshly picked gooseberries for us all to take home, along with some black currants and cucumbers from the community garden. Tuck in everyone!

Tonight was a special occasion - celebrating the 7th Birthday of GoodGym Norwich!!
8 GoodGymer's ran 5km to Catton Grove Community Centre to help tackle their overgrown exterior.
This has been a regular task over the last 7 years, and we were able to finish jobs first started a few years ago such as removing a rusted fence to help protect wildlife - well done Bobby!
Stephen gave the entire hedge a haircut, while everyone else focused on edging, litter picking and cleaning the brickwork.
We assembled a large pile of green waste ready to be collected by the council. And after a hot hour of work we tucked into some lovely birthday cake kindly supplied by one our longest serving members Elizabeth!
More celebrations will follow no doubt, and lots of memories shared of good deeds over the last 7 years.
