We may have lacked in numbers this evening, but this was certainly made up for by enthusiasm! To everyone's relief, we weren't doing door-to-door letter box drops, but finding community boards across the the city to post flyers for Home-Start's next volunteer training course.

Team DJ (Dave and Jen) headed west towards Gunwharf and covered around 4.5 miles, stopping at 11 venues along the way.

Meanwhile, Sammy and Vicki (team name tbc) headed east and confused plenty of supermarket staff asking for the locations of their community boards. Vicki also did a bit of leaflet collecting for her work, whilst Sam had a bit of a social after bumping into a friend on their travels.

We all managed to rendezvous on our way back to base at Fratton, and had a relaxed and chatty walk home. Great job, guys!

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Christmas Hamper for a Home-Start Family. Your generosity is so valued by the charity and the family are sure to be delighted!

We welcomed Lorna to her very first GoodGym session this morning and worked her hard from the moment she arrived! Lorna also stayed on at Summer of Love for the next two missions which was super.

There were gazebos to put up, cars and vans to be marshalled on to the site and tables and stalls to organise. I can't say many hands made light work exactly, but the the help of GoodGym made things run very smoothly indeed.

The day was a complete success with brilliant weather and lots of people attending. At 4pm it was all over and time to take down all the tents and gazebos. Jen was sorting out the Home Start area with colleagues. Dave, Lorna and Mel did a litterpick around the whole area to make sure the park was left nice and tidy. We all helped pack everything into the Home Start van, left the rubbish by the bins to be collected and went on our way leaving lots of families lingering in the park in the still lovely weather.

Dave and Lorna were asked to make sure everyone was having a good time and to answer any questions and give guidance.

Dave went around the event with the official videographer to garner consent.

Lorna got plenty of feedback forms and helped direct vehicles as the packdown began.

The weather held up beautifully and there was nothing but absolute praise from the many people that gathered.

Thank you for all your donations for the Home-Start Car Boot Sale. I dropped off our car load of donations this evening and the volunteers running the Boot Sale were extremely pleased!
