We said “Hey” at the den

Mon 18 Oct
Report written by Steven Hitcham

Tonight's task was a visit to the retirement home of Hayden Court do check in on the residents to see how they are all doing.

A big welcome to Nicole who was taking part in her first GoodGym encounter.

On arrival at Hayden Court we split into to groups and knocked on the flat doors just to see how everyone is.

They were most grateful for us doing so and a very satisfying task.

The evening was finished off with a nice trip to the pub!

Snippin’ La Vida Loca

Mon 11 Oct
Report written by Steven Hitcham

We were back for our 2nd visit in as many weeks to Catton Grove Community Centre, to continue with the snippage. This week Linda asked us to cut back area that had overgrown the mural, so that it could be seen clearly again. We did just that and it was great to learn about the history of the mural and its connection to the local area and people.

Thankfully this week it didn't rain on us and we managed to stay dry. In fact it was a lovely evening that the moon looked incredible.

A great job by everyone and something to be proud of.

A chip off the ol’ block

Mon 27 Sep
Report written by Steven Hitcham

Tonight's task was a return to the lovely St Alban Church on Grove Walk.

On our last visit there we created a new flower bed. This time, we wanted to protect the plants from weeds so our job was to lay a protective mesh down and cover it with wood chippings. Once we completed that we did a bit of weeding.

A big welcome to James and Ralph for taking part in their first Group Run session.

There was talk that we hadn't done a fitness session in a while so I included a squat workout, a relay during weeding and then a wall sit to finish up with. I'm not going lie, it was satisfying putting you all through your paces.

Well done to everyone, you worked hard and Catherine and Sarah were very appreciative of your help.
