It's all about getting the delivery right!
While we're still locked down, GoodGym Ealing is out there delivering essential food supplies to families across Ealing
Here's how it went down this week:
- Bryon, Ellie & Ed were the fantastic walking team this week. Sharing the load and getting in a lovely walk and upper body workout all in one!
- Mike & Milly teamed up for a drop in Southall this week
- Fay & Marieke paired up on their bikes for a drop in Acton
- Navjeet is our ever present superstar driver and always takes on any delivieres she can, this week was no different!
- Annette & Harvey were our second bike team this week
- Always happy to help, this week Caz used her lunch break to help deliver for us
- And last but not least Muhammad picked up our final delivery for this week, we'd be lost without him!
At the moment we support this task every Thursday, so do keep an eye on the WhatsApp Group and the Ealing Community Mission events page and get involved if you can!

DRIVERS, CYCLISTS AND WALKERS NEEDED! Deliver essential food on behalf of EAP across Ealing

Ealing Alternative Provision provides education for young people who are unable to follow their education in the mainstream setting. They are supporting a few local families with food parcels and are looking for volunteers to help deliver them on Thursday lunchtimes.
Please note: They are working with The William Hobbayne Charity to sort and supply the food so parcels will be collected from there and NOT the school
This Thursday they have 7 families that need delivering and we need as many people as possible to help out
Option 1: 1.6 miles - drop off near Hanwell Community Centre to a family of 5 - Ideally three walkers / cyclists working together
Option 2: 1.4 miles - drop off near Hanwell Community Centre to a family of 4 - Ideally two walkers / cyclists working together
Option 3: 4.2 miles - drop off near Cayton Green Park (Greenford) to a family of 4 - Ideally two cyclists working together or a driver
Option 4: 4.2 miles - drop off near Rectory Park to a family of 5 - Ideally three cyclists working together or a driver
Option 5: 3.7 miles - drop off near Northala Fields to a family of 3 - Ideally two cyclists working together or a driver
Option 6: 3.2 miles - drop off near Southall Recreation Ground to a family of 5 - Ideally three cyclists working together or a driver
Option 7: 3.6 miles - drop off near Acton Central Station to a family of 3 - Ideally two cyclists working together or a driver
Once you've signed up please comment below which parcel(s) you are able to deliver, if you can be flexible that would be amazing! Please only sign up if you can commit to one of the above locations.
Instructions:
Parcels should be collected from The William Hobbayne Centre on Boston Road between 11:30am and 1pm
June will be there to meet you
You'll be given the confidential full address of the family to deliver to, please let them know which option you have signed up for
You'll then head out and drop off the parcels at the doorstep of the address you've been given and knock to ensure the family know that the parcel has arrived
Any problems with deliveries call the school 0208 991 8570 or contact Ellen on 07908170934
The parcels are quite large make sure you're happy to carry the items and definitely bring a big large rucksack to carry them, especially if you're cycling.
Any questions, drop me an email to olivia@goodgym.org
Once we have the right number of sign ups, I'll send you a confirmation email.

Pass the (food) parcel
Today's community mission saw 10 amazing members of the GoodGym community come together to ensure that essential food was delivered to families all across the Ealing borough.
It was a freezing cold day but this will really warm the spirits!
Here's how it went down:
- Paul took part in GoodGym for the first time (huge welcome!) and joined Harvey on his bike for a drop
- Tom, Fay & Annette took on a big delivery as a cycling team this week too - awesome team work!
- Our drivers this week were Caz, Muhammad, Aine, Clare & Navjeet - We couldn't do this task without them, give them all a massive cheer!
Here's what Muhammad had to say about the task today:
The mission went well and I was happy to help in time of need :)

In the mood for delivering food
Boy was it freezing today but that didn't stop 12 GoodGym members from helping to get food to the community
Here's how it went down:
- Liv was at the centre early, helping to make up the parcels and split the food between the boxes for delivery
- Tom, Harvey & Annette took on a big delivery as a cycling team this week - team work right there
- Our drivers this week were Caz, Muhammad, Mike, Milly, Kay, Edward, Samar & Navjeet - Without them this task isn't possible so please go give them all a massive cheer for coming out on their lunch breaks to deliver these essential parcels!
Here's what Muhammad had to say about the task today:
Really positive experience, I was glad to help with this mission :)

Annette completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Annette was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Ealing
Gunning for it!
ONEderful start to our 'Day of Good' in Ealing!
On Saturday 18th January GoodGym Ealing hosted a whole day of good deeds in the borough including filling all the volunteer roles at Gunnersbury parkrun, litter picking our way around Gunnersbury Park afterwards, sorting surplus food and organising crates at City Harvest and finishing up for another litter pick in Acton Park.
Part 1:
For good deed number one we filled all the volunteer slots at Gunnersbury parkrun and had GoodGymers from all over London come and support this amazing free weekly event that we love so much. We had people setting up, giving the first timers briefing, marshaling, managing the finish funnel, handing out finish tokens, scanning barcodes, tail walking, pacing as well as helping pack it all away and sort the results.
The full shebang!
If you'd like to help at Gunnersbury parkrun any other week, they always need lovely volunteers to keep the event going every week.
- All the volunteer role descriptions for parkrun are here - PARKRUN VOLUNTEER ROLES
- You can see the future volunteer roster for Gunnersbury here - GUNNERSBURY FUTURE ROSTER
