Weed Been Expecting You!

I can always guarantee one thing at Luxmore Gardens - there'll always be weeds! And tonight was no exception but luckily we had a massive group of Lewisham's finest GG-ers to tackle the never ending supply of weeds that takeover the flower beds.
First up we had a shorter run up the hill to Luxmore Gardens, once we arrived we had a quick lesson in what's a weed and what isn't a weed. You'd think we would be experts after all these years but there's still the frequent call of "is this a weed?!"
Armed with a variety of tools we set to work and it wasn't long before the path was covered in piles of weeds ready to be taken to the compost pile.
There's a variety of techniques I've observed when it comes to weeding at a GG group run:
- Use the tools to effectively remove the weeds
- Rip the weeds out with bare/gardening gloved hands
- Gently remove every part of the weed possible, not leaving anything behind
- Accidentally remove the ornamental grass thinking it's a weed
Soon it was time to pack up, take the group photo and make our way back to Glass Mill.
It was wonderful to see lots of new faces last night - hope you enjoyed your first GG group run!
Don't forget we have a social at Lewisham Lanes on Friday. I'm going to book later today so sign up asap!
