We changed our plans for today's task, due to some recent vandalism in our beloved park and all the negative press that has been around the people of Cardiff had decided to do something about it. So was born the 'Reclaim the Park' Walk, to show that we are many and we are positive, happy, loving people that will not get down (unless to the music). Goodgym were called to do our thing and we were only too happy to oblige, we were going to talk to people beforehand and generally socialise then lead the walk and back mark as stewards.
We had press to hopefully show some positive news for once, whilst showing the people take on the park on mass. Numbers were easily in the hundreds, after the welcome speech from a few people the Samba band warmed up and we led the way.
There was another event in the park that day so there were some last minute changes so as not to ruin their run, it all went really smoothly as we danced our way around 2 km of the park. Plenty of passers by joined in the dancing and the whole thing put smiles on all the faces we spotted along the way.
It all ended back where we began, plenty of people stayed on for picnics, games and chatting. It felt like a really positive day and we had the chance to meet lots of new people, including a couple that signed up to our litter pick the next day.
