Ho! Ho! Hoe!... spreading wood chip!
16 runners ran 2.0km to help the Martin Primary in Barnet.

Sixteen merry Good gymers ran to help Martin primary school. A festive atmosphere was present as people gathered at the Phoenix cinema in their Christmassy outfits this included Father Christmas and rudolf (He wisely refused permission for photography). We welcomed new runner Ellie and celebrated a great year for GG Barnet with some vital statistics. Over the year we have helped 16 local charity’s and done 1136 good deeds! A special mention was made for Laura, Rob, and Rupesh with 60, 80 & 100 Good deeds respectively in the year - Phenomenal ! Give them a cheer! Unfortunately Damian couldn’t make the last run but we both want to thank everyone who has contributed to GG Barnet and our local community. After the prizes were handed out we numbered up and discussed our favourite Christmas film (slightly worryingly Die hard won!...check out "Its a wonderful life" said Father Christmas). We warmed up and headed down the high road to the school where the school caretaker Tristan was waiting for us. We quickly started to work spreading the wood chip over the paths of the schools nature reserve. It was surprisingly hard work and we even managed to break a shovel ( collective responsibility Yu... just between us)😜. We also had a visit from an inquisitive fox possible attracted by Rudolf ( That’s what happens when you run in polyester Rudolf!). We had time for a little warm up and fitness session with paired running/sprints and squats. We then re energised with some yogic breathing for the long run home. All 600 meters ...well it is Christmas! We then went for a drink and snacks in the Phoenix ( Thank you Saba and Sally for the nibbles). Be proud of yourselves, keep running and doing good.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Don’t forget a special badge available for a mission between now and new year.
