What a beautiful day we had today, the Sun was shining, the birds were singing a brilliant day to get outside for some active travel and volunteering.
10 Goodgymers met up for some Walking, Running or Cycling to a task to help out at the fantastic Cwtch Together charity playgroup.
Today was the official Launch of our partnership with Raleigh and so there were some delightful treats for the end of the task, thank you RALEIGH. We also had our newest addition to the Goodgym Cymru Crew, Natasha
Croeso Natasha
The walkers headed off first, just a 2km distance from our start location. Closely followed by the runners with the rest meeting us at the task. It had been a whilst since we had been able to help out the front of the building, as we had been concentrating on tidying up the newly discovered hidden back area of the building.
Today, however, was back to the old style of helping - and what a lush day for it. After a rather successful Easter party on Saturday, and very happy families after the Jubilee party (one that we had also help them get ready for), it was decided to put something on for the additional Coronation Bank Holiday.
Teddy Bear's Picnic
As the grounds not quite ready - ENTER GOODGYM - so, to mowing, strimming, pruning , weeding and raking we go. And whilst we wait the Teddy Bears can head off to enjoy some fairground fun.
We split into teams, Martin and Natasha on the mowing duty (once they had managed to put it together), Dylan on strimming, Dylan on raking - Yes there's two Dylans, and Su, Sophie, Jen, Andrew and Llion on tidying, pruning and weeding. We made a great start to it, with an agreement to return in a couple of weeks on the Tuesday before the party to make sure the ground is stingy plant free and ready for partying - Teddy style.
A quick group photo and then an opportunity for everyone to eat their 'lush' chocolate surprises and it was time to head back.
