On a night of Seasonal Shopping, a big WALES football game and The Prodigy playing in Cardiff, it was very VERY busy. Thankfully, most people made it through the traffic in time for the run, with a few additional goodgymers meeting us at the task for the volunteering.
6 of us went for a run tonight, just about making it through the crowds. A nice 5km run around the bay and away from all of the people, a nice bit of serenity.
Our end location tonight, different to our start, was a great cafe - Muffin Break, ready to get busy making our last set of paper chain sets for the CAMHS at Christmas organisation.
As Michael SMASHED 2 Muffins
The happy goodgym elves got to work creating the paper chain packs, writing jokes on the paper, some with additional seasonal stamps. There were coloured pens, ink stamps and paper flying everywhere until the final whistle went - the task was coming to an end. Everything was collected together and packed away, and the crew got into pose formation for the final group photo.
Our volunteer task was over, and now it was time for a quick social before heading home.
Join us next week as we write 'Cards for Care Homes' and make a few for the organisations that we have worked with this year.

Take me running, painting in the rain Feel it washing over me, oh oh Join us, running, painting in the rain Cover me in ecstasy , oh oh
So that's out the way now and possibly stuck in your head! Last night 11 goodgymers got together, despite the rain, to make their way on a lovely night time run to help out with some painting of railings.
Michael, led the crew on the quickest route tonight, so that we could get as much painting done as possible. First, we had to get into the office for the equipment. Luckily the key holder was in the Choir and could see us looking all confused at a locked door.
Just as we had the equipment out and we started, our organiser Julian arrived, just in time to get stuck in with the rest of us. We were brushing the railings with wire brushes, being followed by the painters. We split into a few groups, with three of us heading off under some trees to paint, which we were thankful for when it started to rain!
We cleared the equipment and put it back into storage, as we got warmed and dry with a quick bit of food from the lovely Choir with no name. A quick group photo, and it was time to head back for a nice social.

A great turn out tonight, as 17 goodgymers took to the streets to get active a do some good.
Our last visit to this Church, at least for this year, so it was lovely to see so many of us there. A somewhat awkward start as our organiser was stuck in traffic but that just gave us time to get social and have a chat.
Lets not forget some welcomes......
Chloe on their first goodgym visit, great meeting you and see you back again soon. Jake back for their second task.
There was plenty to chat about as we have the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday, expect some goodgym cheers out on the course.
Michael received a call from the organiser, and just like that we could get started - after being told where to get the tools from. It wasn't much longer until they arrived, and we were early to the task anyway!
Everyone got to work to get as much done as possible, the front of the building looked beautiful and tidy, the rail was up in the hall and a good chunk of the back was weed free.
Thanks to all for coming tonight.
Get signed up for next week when you can.

A couple of last minute arrivals, a change of task because of a change in weather... It's all go with goodgym tonight.
As it was a nice evening it was decided to get our paint on... But not until we rock the bin bag look.
On the metal arch, with a very drippy gloss one coat paint were Cecil, Dylan and Sophie. Trying their best not to splatter the floor as they went.
In the office, painting a very lovely mellow yellow wall was Holly and Su. Fans blasting to keep them cool.
And last but by no means least, on the vacuuming duty on the stairs.... The one and only Jihaad.
Our 30 minutes flew by and it was time for a few sandwiches and crisps whilst catching up with our friends at Samye.
Our run tonight, a nice 2.5km each way (sandwiched with the task) for a good total of 5km. The group at the front led by Michael, on a speedy finish. And our chatty group with Su have a lovely time.
A great way to spend a Tuesday, fun friends, fitness and volunteering.
