GoodGym Lambeth was back out in force this week, and honestly? We absolutely loved that one. 🍃
Our superstars assembled at Papa’s before splitting into two crack squads — one team collected a fresh batch of shiny new flyers, while our early birds grabbed the older versions and hit the streets immediately. Two groups, one mission, zero chill. 😤💪
This week we were proudly raising awareness for our brilliant friends at GROAD, and the legend that is Andrea had given us a full briefing on exactly where to focus our energies. Consider it road-tested intel. 🗺️🤓
Before we set off, a few of our big-hearted bunch noticed a vulnerable woman at Papa’s and made sure she got home safely — because that’s just who we are. ❤️
New member Pravina joined the group this week - delighted to have you with us!!
The rest of the crew cracked on, and we’re delighted to report every single road on the plan got covered. Mission: absolutely, undeniably, magnificently accomplished. 😱🤩
With the streets well and truly flyered, it was time for the real reward — the monthly social at The Landor for drinks, food, and the kind of chat that makes all those km worth it. 🍾🥂
Same time next week? We’ll be there. Obviously. 😎

Yesterday, four Goodgymmers went to St Faiths to help Andrea from GROAD load the van ready to distribute clothes to rough sleepers. Apart from a few runaway bobbins, everything went to plan and very quickly everything was packed away in the van. Nice one team! 🙌

Daryl, Emma, Gemma, Isaac, Lydia, Paulin and Sam met up with Andrea shortly after 19:00 outside Zimbabwe House and Charing Cross Police Station.
They weren't there to be diplomatic or to be arrested...they came out to do good by helping unload the Get Rid Of And Donate (GROAD) van with items that the team helped pack up yesterday at St. Faith's Community centre. From jumpers to jackets and suitcases to shoes, everything that Andrea had been collecting for her rough sleepers project since the last time she did this (in May), they helped display it on the rails of the Charing Cross Police Station. It was a bit hectic with the rough sleepers grasping at anything that they wanted to seize their hands on. Yet, despite the odd rude person, most were respectful and grateful for receiving what the public had donated for them. It was a full circle moment for many of the GG Southwark members from recieving and sorting out donations on a Sunday to giving them out to those who need it the most on the last Tuesday of the month. ❤️
Within 45 minutes, everything was gone and what was left was left out as eventually someone would come along and take it for themselves. Nothing is wasted.

It was a single person mission, the bar staff was very helpful - navigating me to where the lockers were. I stayed upstairs near the bar awaiting donations at first, I brought the first batch downstairs and got on with what needed doing awaiting for whatever was to come.
