๐Ÿ˜ 19 brilliant GoodGymmers braved the rain for our group run this evening โ˜”

๐Ÿ‘‹ We were thrilled to welcome Saeid and Kate for their first GoodGym sessions this evening, it was brilliant to have you both along ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿš‚ Some of the gang had raced (and possibly/probably beaten, @Ed) the train over the weekend, so doubly impressive to be back out running again ๐Ÿ‘Œ

๐Ÿ– We named and numbered off while saying our favourite farm animals (pigs were popular, as we're the classic sheep, with the odd pygmy goat thrown in for good measure). Oh, and we did some wall squats too. After a quick running warm up, we split into two groups to head to our respective tasks โœŒ๏ธ

๐Ÿƒ Nick led to St Nick's and here's what he had to say...

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŒพ Our task tonight was to scythe a part of Millennium Fields close to the path. We had 5 scythers and the rest of us raked the grass onto new extra slidy tarps to take to the compost. We took great care not to cut down two Teasels and a big bunch of Tansy. Jenna said she thought she'd been doing too much swinging, which caused a chuckle ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐ŸŽ The rest of us headed to Holgate Community Orchard where we were thrilled to collect Laura en route and meet Tay there. It was brilliant to see the progress since our many dark Monday evenings there last winter. The raised beds are in and ready to be planted next week. We're looking forwards to smelling the lavender and verbena and hearing the buzz of the bees who we hope will flock there ๐Ÿ

๐ŸŒฑ Tonight, we were pulling back the sheeting to see which pokey weeds were trying to sneak through and were pleasantly surprised that there actually weren't too many. (We like to think this means that our previous hours of labour there worked!) Some people (including a crack team of Amy, Carl and Louise) therefore set to work digging up roots near the entrance while Laura and Saeid did some pulling and cutting back of the brambles on the fence ๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Soon, it was time to pull the sheet back in place and play spot the peg hole to pin it back down. The lack of pesky weeds means they don't need us back next week ๐Ÿฅณ

๐Ÿ’ช A jog back to base reunited us with our scything pals for some "on the minute" fitness. We did two reps of five exercises with no complaints (honest) ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿ‘ It was then time to part ways and say see you soon, or go to the pub together for some ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿคฉ Thanks everyone, and hopefully see you again soon ๐ŸŽ‰
