Have weeds? Will travel 🏃🚆

This was my second mission/London borough of the day, but my first time meeting the awesome Andrea.

Our mission today was to help out Mr K by clearing some weeds in his garden in Hackney. Mr K has found it increasingly difficult to keep up with the gardening as he's become less mobile. Consequently, GoodGym were asked if we could come over and do a big tidy-up for him.

After introducing ourselves to Mr K, we asked the standard question of did he have any bags for us to put the green waste into. Although he could find only one initially, Mr K carried on looking as we weeded until he'd found enough bags for us to clear every garden in the street (and probably twice over). This was very handy! 😄

As Mr K wasn't feeling great, we decided to concentrate on the front garden so that we didn't traipse through his house. Decision made, over the course of 90 minutes or so, Andrea and I gradually filled 6 bags with weeds, rose bush branches, and branches of random green-stuff (it looked like a bush 🤷). I think that we were both very brave around the worms, snails, and spiders generally infesting the garden. This was despite the provacation of a spider landing in my hair while I was simply minding my own business clearing some weeds from beneath a bush (I feel like there should be some sort of GoodGym badge for this, tbh).

Mr K was very happy with what we'd cleared in the time: Hopefully we'll be able to return and do the same for his back garden when he's feeling a bit better :)

After making our goodbyes to Mr K, Andrea and I headed to a pub for sustenance (including lots of water!) before making our goodbyes to each other: I was off to Ealing for my third mission/London borough of the day, while Andrea was off for a run along the canal (& ended up doing his first 10km in years. Great stuff, Andrea!).
