Today, Lil, Katherine and Nigel cycled over to the Keresley Jubilee woodland to take part in their community action day. The local councillors and urban rangers have organised several events to get the woodland looking its very best for the Queen’s platinum jubilee. Luckily, the weather was kind and the turnout good with many local residents, the local scouts and school students joining the fun.

The main task of the day was clearing the widespread brambles that cover the site and are restricting the growth of other plants and trees. It was a great work out and hard work but we still managed to have plenty of time to chat, make new friends and find out more about the local area.

We look forward to returning to this lovely little haven for birds and wildlife in the future.
