5 Goodgymers joined the Friends of Peoples Park team on their monthly litter pick.
No big ticket items to report...the regular litter picks are keeping the park in good shape and hopefully are encouraging users to be more mindful about their litter ๐ค
Around 13 bags collected to keep the momentum going followed by an unplanned upper body workout as we lobbed our bags into the cage on the council truck!!!

It was our first visit to Holy Trinity church in 2026 and our first group run of the year in daylight!
We ran out to meet William and Violet for a spring clean of the church interior, vacuuming the floor, mopping the tiles in the aisle and polishing the pews.
It was the first time for two people. We showed Hussein and Ebrahim the ropes of a GoodGym session and they put in a good effort with both the running and the cleaning!

This week we had unfinished business to deal with!
The poly-tunnel at the Lea Vale community garden proved to be a mental challenge a few weeks ago as we attempted to build it without instructions or even a picture! We did a great job figuring it out and nearly finished putting it together too, but unfortunately ran out of time.
So this week we ran up Farley Hill once again, tunnel vision focused on completing the structure so the team at the garden can get the strawberries growing! ๐
We found the frame as we left it, with just a few poles still to bolt on but it wasn't quite as simple as that, still some head scratching to do. Some subtly different poles had gone on in the wrong place last time so we had to hunt down the errors and correct them before we could finish. But finish we did, and even put the canopy on top and tied the whole thing down so it doesn't blow away!
The wind was bitterly cold so by the time we were done a round of hot teas โ was just what we needed to get the feeling back in our fingers before running back down the hill into town filled with warm tea and warm feelings of a job well done ๐๐ผ
