12 Goodgym Fashionistas vogued their way through the streets of N22 as they ran to help clothing charity Traid to get their shop floor ready for their winter collection.

Front Page Headliners

Big up to Hardcore Sam who joined us straight after a bout of the dreaded Covid bug and made the catwalk look more like a cakewalk. And it was her birthday this week to boot. Star.

Special mention for Becca too, who joined us for her first proper post-lockdown  group run. T'was like she never stopped. Boom.

Getting a Foot in the Dior

We were joined by GG legend Ivo last night so everyone was in their best behaviour - or at least we tried! Seriously, some of this lot you can't take anywear.

Anyways, we had a lopsided run last night as the good folk at Traid had been hard at work since 6 so we did a very short 1k run straight there so we could help.

Most of us arrived on time, whilst some unnamed Goodgymmers left it appropriately and fashionably late to arrive at the party. Some people will run 23 miles just to make an entrance - runners, eh?

At Traid, we got on with the familiar jobs of packing away the clothes and working out our frustrations with a bit of hanger management.

Gramps tried to put on some frilly purple pants but was fervently and physically talked down, on account of both Ivo and his mum being there for the task. I suppose we've found the line for our Haringey Goodgymmers.

After a very efficient 45 minutes, the team at Traid were gratefully ushering our rowdy lot out the door, but not before saying thank you and taking loads of pics with the team. Another prompt mission completed.

It was then a case of the Disappearing Goodgymmers during our long run back to base as one by one, people started peeling off home.

In the end, Kapil, Ivo, and Gramps made it back to HQ for High Fives. Ace.

Join us next week for fun and games!

TRAID (Textile Reuse and International Development) is a UK charity working to tackle and solve the problems caused by producing, consuming and disposing of clothes. We do this by providing convenient ways for the public to reuse clothes while delivering education to people of all ages to raise awareness of the powerful environmental and social benefits of reducing our clothing footprint. The funds we raise are committed to global projects benefiting the people and places making our clothes. The work we support aims to improve environmental and social outcomes from supporting cotton farmers grow organic cotton to helping retailers to eliminate child labour in their supply chains. Most of the funds are raised through our charity shops, and in order to do so, we hold five Sale periods a year across our eleven branches, these last approximately 2-3 weeks. The last day of the Sale, after closing time, we need to pack the leftovers and leave the shop clear for it to be restocked the following day, here is where your teams can be of much help.

It was a funny session, with a surprise visit. Yes, we did try very hard to behave.
