Firstly a great big welcome Audra, Ian and Rich who joined us for one of our regular beach cleans and give them a cheer. Judy, Val, Rosie, India and Katie L joined fresh from their swim in the sea and we armed ourselves with gloves, pickers and bags and split into 2 groups. Jo, Judy, Katie L, Rosie and Rich headed onto the beach and tackled the area from The Briny to the back of the Pyramids. Audra, Ian, India, Maura and Val headed towards the top half of Castle fields to tackle the rubbish up there.

The beach thankfully was relatively clean, and the usual culprits were found such as napkins, wipes, bottle tops, cigarette butts and the odd glass or plastic bottle. Unfortunately due to COVID we are starting to see an increase in the number of disposable face masks that are being found. Rosie found a carton full of mouldy hummus, or was it guacamole? There were some clay pebbles and a small heart. Katie L was joined by her family as they also helped to pick any litter on the beach.

On Castle fields, Maura found the number 3 and India found a toy shark which triggered Judy to start singing the verse to one of the most annoying songs possible. I will allow you to guess what that is. After the clean we waved off Rosie as the next time we see her she will be married and a few of us headed to get a hot drink before heading home.
