Community Engagement Part 2. We picked up where Jane and Wilson had left off a couple of weeks ago.
Luckily, the weather was kind and the local kids & parents came out to give their views for the community consultation (with Katie); to use the sports equipment (with Tony); and then to enjoy the free ice creams, food & drink (moi).
I had plenty of polite helpers and Tess was given lots of walks (and naughty treats), courtesy of the local children.

Wilson and Jane were on hand to serve drinks and offer sandwiches and cakes to the residents of Lords Court in Landport who were being asked about the plans to refurb / pimp up the concrete court area.
The free ice cream also went down a treat with the kids.

2 Goodgymers planted and wrapped Hazel trees for the Tree wardens. We booked Goodgym in to come and do a little pick in 2 years time to remove the sapling wrappers! Lovely to be part of this rewilding project.

3 Goodgymers helped the Tree wardens to plant some lovely cherry, pear and plum trees as part of the Queen's green canopy jubilee project. We were gift warm snuggly hoodie- veey briefly! - and had fun using spades, hammers and the huge pile driver thingy to good effect. Some Goodgym offspring also joined in the fun!

Congratulations to Aoife on her 100th Good Deed today! She donned the wings for the duration of our tree planting today.
We learnt several new bits of tree-planting lingo, including slotting and heeling, and overall contributed about 15 trees as part of the fruit tree hedge.
We should have kept a running tally of the number of tree planting innuendos that came up today - it probably would have been a record breaking task with all the deep holes and girth-related queries.
