This evening Anna and myself went to help the lovely Mr D move some items around. We transferred chairs between floors, which he was pleased with as this had needed to be done for some time. Before taking our leave we reminding him that goodgym was always there if he needed any help in the future, he was grateful.

It was a fantastic evening supporting the brilliant parent volunteers at St John’s C of E School, where we took on two impactful tasks to help improve their outdoor spaces.
The 9 GoodGymers split into two teams: one group tackled the extensive bindweed that had taken over the fence alongside the Forest School allotment. Working among their residents - two Pygmy goats, rabbits and chickens - we made great progress clearing the fence so people can now look in and parents can now focus their time growing things in the allotment for the children to see and learn about.
Meanwhile, the second group got busy painting one side of a large shed with a holly green base coat - the first step in an exciting transformation, as another parent volunteer will soon be working with the children to create a mural on the shed that will really brighten up the end of the playground.
Both tasks were hugely satisfying, and we hope our efforts will make a real difference for the school community. To top it all off, we enjoyed a final hello to the animals on our way out - always a highlight!

This morning, bright and early Marie, Farzeen and myself met at the Goodgym flower bed to feed the plants and flowers to keep them thriving and a colourful display for all to admire. Whilst doing this, Marie went paddling to rescue an escaped bucket ( good job they were old trainers). Her baptism into goodgym!

This morning Ellie and myself arrived at the war memorial to tidy up the little flower squares around the trees, also clean up the weeds all around the memorial inbetween the paving slabs to make this memorial look it's best. We were joined by Yvonne Tracy and James Giles, Councillors to make this happen. Once we all got stuck in, we soon make a big difference. A fitting tribute.

With the heat wave in full force the worms were sensibly hiding as Levita and Claire made a very early trip to the GoodGym flowerbed to gather water from the river and give the plants a good drink.
They had survived the blistering heat well but needed a drink as did we after two trips to the river pulling out buckets of water and pushing the wheel barrows full of water up the hill.
Hopefully the rain will come again soon.

It was scorching outside, but the team pedalled and walked into the cool sanctuary of the Full Cycle workshop where we were greeted by the usual tasks that were perfectly geared to keep us moving. We wasted no time dividing and conquering them all!
While one group didn't let the pressure get to them and tackled the massive backlog of inner tubes, another shifted focus to the workbenches, labelling tools and ensuring everything was in its rightful place. Simultaneously, the cardboard and tyres for recycling was collected and bagged up.
By multitasking our way to victory, we really pumped up the productivity and left the workshop looking spoke-tacular.
