Tonight the two of us braved the dark nights running to Stirchley and back picking up litter as we went.

Nearly three-quarters of women in the UK change their outdoor activity routines during winter & nearly half of men underestimate women's safety concerns.

Thank you GoodGym for creating Womens safety training for men #liftthecurfew

Please do look out for runs and missions over the Autumn and Winter months to keep motivated and exercise together!

This morning Jonny ran to Perry Common to complete a litter pick with The Friends of Perry Common.

On a nice sunny morning we got to work. I was picking the litter when I spotted a cat under the bush, they eventually came out to get a little attention, though re-treated once a dog came by!

Towards the end of the pick, I even found a discarded Sleeping Beauty umbrella!

Once done it was time for a short run home.

Myself and Christina went along to Stirchley Community Market and helped set up for the Autumn market!

We put together some outdoor stalls and cleared some leaves 🍂

It was great to welcome Roger back to GoodGym after his first session with Liam and COBs last week! Although it was just the two of us we managed to do a good 1k plog around Stirchley Park and the surrounding area picking enough rubbish for a full bag in about 30 minutes. We then headed for a chatty 3k run along the Rea (hence the pun!). Not a fan of the Americanism in the pun but it was all I could think of 😅 Hopefully we will see you again soon Roger!

Tonight 4 GoodGymers and 2 Community Market volunteers smashed through around 700 leaflets. Keeping locals informed of a fab free volunteer led event!

After this we got a drink at the pub and spontaneously decided to go for pizza- hence the pun!

Thanks as always to Amy our market leader and taskforce member for organising ❤️🍕🥰

Our first task at Kings Heath Community Centre! We turned up to be greeted by Maisie, who showed us to the room we were painting. We also met two volunteers who recently started helping out at the centre. I began by covering the radiator in special radiator paint, then joined Miriam and Sofeen with their rollers to paint some fresh white walls. Such a friendly atmosphere and a great space. Look out for our next session there, hopefully in just a few months!
