Tonight on a very cold evening we headed to Friends of the Earth. The 2k run got us somewhat warmer at least!
On arrival we were met by Marcel the dog (hence copious doggie pics!). Also we met our walker Annie, fresh from her India adventure.
The task was to mop and scrub a tiled floor, that was Annie, James and Jonny who got to work on that, with Marcel watching over. Ramiz and Rachel did some paper shredding upstairs.
Once done we had a group photo, followed by saying goodbye to Marcel and the team, before heading back to 1000 Trades.

Tonight GG Brum were focusing on a good running session, though of course first we did a bit of good. We headed around the streets of the Jewellery Quarter armed with a bag and a couple of litter pickers to clear up the streets. Once we had done our good deed we headed back to 1000 Trades to disarm ourselves of litter pickers before heading out on our run.
We ran 2k to Millenium Point, before doing some Fartlek, yep that's a Swedish term meaning 'play with speed'. James and Amy certainly did that, putting in a good shift of 10 minutes, including a mix of different timed efforts from as little as 10 seconds, to really get the legs turning over up to 1 minute, to help build more of that endurance engine! Once done both were pretty understandably tired, so we took a nice easy run back.

Tonight's task was to help out at the lovely charity The Friends of the Earth.
The runners were Jonny, James and Rachel, with the walkers Miriam, Amy and Sofeen joining us at the task.
We were welcomed by a nice sign on the door before Karen gave us our tasks to do. It was a nice mix, with Jonny doing some vacuuming, Miriam and Amy painting and then James, Rachel and Sofeen did the outdoors stuff, which was sweeping, tidying and litter picking.
We spent a good half an hour or so and got plenty done, Miriam taking plenty of pictures.
Once done the walkers headed off and the runners ran the 2k back to 1000 Trades, making it a nice 4k run in total :)

I couldn't think of a pun but loving the term "Spooky GoodGym" so that's what it had to be!
We met up at 1000 Trades and walked down to the cemetery for their spooky Halloween event. Gabriel was walking so we left him to a spooky tour of the catecombs while James, Eve and myself headed out on a 4km run round town.
When we got back it was time to help put away tables, lights and gazebos. It was great there was 4 of us as we were able to take a corner each, and with team work put them away quickly before helping to carry them back to the JQ bid office.
A great task! Next year we should carve our own GG pumpkin!

Tonight we had a good group of 6 of us to help out at the Jewellery Quarter Cemetery, well 7 actually as the main man was Luca the dog!
We got to work clearing all the leaves from the big main path, using our 'jazz hands' while Luca pottered around sniffing out some more leafs for us!
We managed to fill 8 massive bags of leafs, a sterling effort!
Once done, Jonny, Amy and James went for a 3k run, taking in some of the canal, while Amy, Eve, John and Luca took the equipment back to the Print Works, before we all met back at 1000 Trades were Luca had a well deserved giant bowl of water! Woof!
