Catch of the day at the Fisherman's garden

Another Monday and another epic milestone for GG Worthing with Lucy celebrating her 200th good deed. Lucy started her GG life in Worthing having been introduced to the group by Duncan a few months before they climbed Kilimanjaro back in July 2017. Living and working in Portsmouth Lucy quickly joined the GG team there too. Lucy continues to be a very committed member in Portsmouth together with regular visits to Worthing, whenever her shifts allow.

Tonight we were along the road at one of our previous regular tasks at The Fisherman's Garden - just east of Splashpoint LC. Our very own eagle eyed Gillybean had spotted that the seafront flower beds needed a lot of TLC and we were only too pleased to help out.

After a run around the pier or the option of an extended wall to the task we eventually all convened at the task.

It was a great start to some more extensive work that needs doing there. A quick fix of pruning, trimming and raking with an energised ( if rather chilly ) team went a long way to tidying up the whole area.

Big shout out to you all that I haven't yet mentioned turning out on a cold dark January night.

Thank you :)

After bagging as much as we could and carefully tidying and hiding the rest, we presented Lucy with her 200th gift - a nice warm woolly hat and got a really great photo of her too !

After the mini photo shoot the majority of the group headed off in search of chips or home whilst the three 'R's helped me clear up and load the car before heading home.

Next week we will be celebrating all the recent milestones at the Egremont from 7:15pm so we do hope that as many of you as possible will make it. We will also be giving out the annual award for the most improved runner as well so a not to be missed event!

This weekend we have the following options

Saturday park run volunteerng 08:30 Saturday drinks then curry 19:00 onwards at the Rose and Crown then the Mahaan. Please feel free to drop in just for a drink if it works for you. Sunday beach clean and litter pick 09:45

I love the concept of getting physically and mentally fit whilst combining it with helping others. I run most days.
