York Tiny Forest

Some of us will be at the Tiny Forest task beforehand, do join us for a double whammy January bonus task if you can.

Goodgym have been involved in creating a tiny forest on Kimberlow Hill near York University (Sports Village end). There are a number of tiny trees in the nursery bed to be gently lifted & rehomed. A number of trees have been donated and are ready to be rehomed whilst in their winter dormant phase. All will be planted close to the Tiny Forest, some in the memorial garden & some on the other side of the hedge. This will involve digging holes, filling them with compost and tree feed and then planting the sapling. These trees will each need stakes and recycled guards applying.

The final part of the task usually involves a social catch up, flasks of hot drinks, some cake and general appreciation of nature and the trees.

Bring gloves and footwear for muddy ground (and a contribution to the picnic snack). If possible depending on your mode of transport it would be helpful to bring tools (eg trowel, spade)
