This GoodGym saw 7 runners wind their way back to Camberwell to see Janet at the Salvation Army Centre to de-toddler the toddler toys.

Grey skies and red t-shirts

We warmed up and welcomed back some familiar faces and some newer faces who weren't put off by burpees in the rain last week (nice one!). Off we set through the winding streets to Camberwell, up the slightly evil hill and down the more evil hill keeping quite a pace.

Once we arrived, Janet showed us the little flowerbeds that the children who use the centre, just one of the community groups, had planted. Plus, our weeding was still in force from last time. We may need to re-visit that the next time we visit though.

We soon got to work cleaning all of the toys armed with buckets of water & dettol, jay cloths and a keen eye for sorting out the toys into the correct storage boxes! Not put off by the hot water having run out, we made quick work despite the debate of certain items as dolls accessories or kitchen utensils…

systematic truck dunking

Janet does always spoil us a little when we visit and this week was no different… a bowl of minstrels. Yet again, another test to see how we fair post-sweets running. For a slightly longer run, we avoided the evil hill home but still all pushed each other to run that bit faster than we all would have done had we been alone.

Arriving back at Old Spike, everyone was a bit sweaty and red faced but pleased with the running, clean smelling hands and good deed for the week.
