It's a little bit funny....

14 intrepid Goodgymmers dug deep to help the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve last night.

Woop Woop

First of all give it up for Julia, Charlie, Kapil, Claire, and Kiki who met up and ran a hot and hilly 4k to the task last night, as well as John who joined on his bike.

Speaking of Kiki, she and Claire were visiting us for their first task (and run!) in ages. Rock stars.

Last but in no way least, Juan and Carmen joined us for their first ever Goodgym experience last night and they were awesome.

Can You Feel The Love Tonight?

14 goodgyummers congregated at the Westbury Banks Nature Reserve for a variety of tasks.

Rocket Man Charlie led a sub-team in prepping the site for a new marshland habitat, next to the pond. And I Think its Going To Be A Long, Long Time before people stop talking about how much they got done last night!

At the same time, a bunch of Honky Cats weeded the paths along the lower part of the reserve with such brio and gusto. Reader, I wish you could've seen them. Smiles on their faces, good chat being had, weeds being pulled. The Circle Of Life and all that.

Lastly, Tiny Dancer Carmen and GGH Rock Star/Birthday Girl Nurjehan covered the whole of the Reserve doing a very thorough litter pick.

Before you knew it, like a Madman Across The Water, I called a break on the proceedings so we could have some cake. We Crocodile Rocked our way through a poignant rendition of Happy Birthday for our very own Nurjehan whilst I kept an eye on the Candle In The Wind. And then cake. Cake was good. Nurjehan was gracious and generous in her thanks. It was all lovely.

We then went back to our jobs full of energy and sugar.

I kept muttering under my breath Please Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me but some things are inevitable and after another risk assessment, I had to call an end to the proceeding at around 7:50. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word when you have to tell 14 keen Goodgymmers they have to stop. I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues. Thankfully it was Hakuna Matata, no worries from them.

There was time for some selfies and more chat before it was Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for all of us. It was a fun night

And don't forget that this could be Your Song - join us next week!
