"GG Runs" is a running series created by GG Southwark AA, Sam AND NOT apart of the official GG Race team's Big Six races. It is essentially his running goals for 2023: to run a different running distance race from 5k to 100k+, yet advertising it for anyone to come along and join him in these adventures. It is spread throughout the year with the hardest challenge first.
Where will his adventures be taking him in 2023?
- 5k - Santa Dash Run (Battersea Park) - Date TBC (in December 2023)
- 10k - Lake Bled Night Run (Bled, Slovenia) - Saturday 24th June
- Half marathon - Big Half (London) - Date TBC (most probably in September)
- Marathon - Athens (The Original) Marathon (Athens, Greece) - Sunday 12th November
- Ultra marathon - Isle of Wight Ultra (running around Isle of Wight) - Saturday 29th April
This listing is for the Nočna 10ka on Saturday 24th of June. Nočna 10ka is an annual summer night 10k race (on the last Saturday of June) around Lake Bled, a picture-postcard alpine tourist destination in the Julian Alps in Slovenia.
Hoping to make a weekend (or long weekend) with any GoodGymers willing and wanting to come out for this "European getaway and run" trip. More details on the (long) weekend plans to come as well as information about entering as the website hasn't been updated yet. However, you can see details of last year's event on World's Marathons and Nočna 10ka info site. Going by last year's timeline; registrations should open in early February. Whenever it comes around, I will update this listing.
Making a weekend or more out of it? If you are serious about participating, I will be in touch about my plans to visit Bled (when I am flying there and back, place(s) I will be staying etc.). My hope is to bring a few GGers along for the ride - run, drink, eat, have fun, see the sights, be adventurous (if going canyoning or kayaking ) and enjoy the moment.

I knew you would be enticed to come Nathan 😉 just got to wait until official dates and registration comes out, but going by past years...it's the last Saturday of June ☺️
I ran round the lake in -1 once…. Much better to do it in summer!!
It will be the closest Saturday to the Summer Solstice, so hoping for a warm (not too hot) summer night. It looks pretty in the winter months too!
As per my email to those interested, the race date was announced and it's mid-May (13th of May), which I cannot do. By all means, if you are still keen, please setup a new race and get organising amongst yourselves.
However, this is no longer part of "GG Runs". A new 10k race will be determined (in the UK) and I hope you can join me.
