2 GG-ers,Tracey and Chandrima, headed to Camberwell Green to support Marie from the SE5 Forum committee, who runs a regular Saturday market stall but is currently suffering from bronchitis that hinders her ability to set up.
🛒 💪🏻Tracey helped tow the heavy trolleys from the leisure centre to the green, before she and Chandrima set up the gazebo, arranged the tables, set up the t-shirt cloth hanger, and laid out all the merchandise including mugs, tote bags, fridge magnets, hats, books, postcards, and key rings. Chandrima put up the bunting, and Tracey made sure the display looked as fabulous as the sun shining all over London today. ✨☀️

2 GoodGymers dove right in to a productive session at Borough Food Co-op. J and Chandrima sorted 8 crates of miscellaneous veggies (chives, cabbages, corn, aubergines, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, carrots, and yam), salad boxes, and fruits (lemons, oranges, bananas, apples, pears, and plums) —into dedicated crates for each item, with some stored safely in the veggie freezer, alongside a thorough quality check for tomorrow’s food bank. 🥬🌽
Next up, they sorted 6 miscellaneous boxes of pantry staples—lentils, chickpeas, red kidney beans, cannelloni beans, finely chopped tomatoes and rice—onto neatly stocked shelves.🫘🍚
All 7 refrigerator and freezer temperatures were accurately recorded to ensure everything stayed fresh. Chandrima carefully divided massive cartons of eggs into safe 6-packs, then J meticulously cleaned all the crates for the next session. ♻️ The team wrapped up by breaking down cardboard boxes for recycling, sweeping the floors, and wiping down surfaces to leave everything spotless. ✨

13 goodgymmers showed up to help out fan favourite, Simon, at Thorlands on Wednesday. After a quick safety briefing to ensure no one rubbed their foreheads with poisonous hemlock, the team got cracking weeding, chopping branches and turning over soil. Having worked up an appetite the team departed and made way to John the Unicorn for pizza

Tonight, James, Isaac, Cecelia, Andrada and Emma and I went to litter pick around Vestry Road. We started by the Nisa and walked up the hill towards Camberwell Grove. We filled 3 big black bags, full of random things like used vapes, wrappers and bottles.
