Thanks Jim for bringing along son Thomas to his first ever GoodGym session!

Looking a bit mad and potentially dangerous, we ran down Hilsea Lines baring spades and pitchforks, before connecting back to Northern Parade to the location of our task. Two of the residents at Redbridge showed us where they wanted the vegetable garden located, and we worked together to decide on dimensions.

We may not have made a perfectly parallel patch (more of a trapezoid, for those who want specifics when it comes to quadrilaterals), but a huge amount of earth was turned over, ready for planting. Thomas was an absolute trench-edging pro, despite not having ever dug one before. New skill unlocked!

We had another pleasantly menacing run back to the Lido to round off the evening.

Mr & Mrs C have a tiny courtyard garden packed out with plants in pots, surrounded by tall shrubs. They needed help cutting down the top branches and neatening the overhang outside the garden wall.

Despite long-handled loppers and the loan of a neighbour's step ladder, I was just too short to make a neat job of it.

It may need to be a repeat visit by a taller GoodGymer!

What started out as a simple gazebo build evolved into a full team effort, when the heavier than expected wind gusts took out one of the poles!

Dave did a wonderful job of holding the structure in place, whilst Jane helped brighten up the subtle guy ropes ones we got the gazebo back up and running. Epic work from Paul and Alex of BPA, who with a saw, a plank of wood and some metal stakes got everything structurally sound.

On her way back from a coffee run, Jen found the pastor and his family from City Life Church struggling with their equipment up Tangiers Road, so carried on the good deed by carrying a gazebo for them. Luckily, helping erect theirs was a bit less eventful!

Well, the Kids' Games Stall was a non-stop party for four very hard-working GoodGymers!

We welcomed Pamela to her first ever GoodGym session. Pamela's special talent for making cakes for dogs was also shown today, where she delivered a dog-friendly cake as a prize for the BPA Dog Show - nice one!

Paul and Laura seemed to be in their element, running the games such as Hook a Boat, Splat the Rat (very popular!) and Hoopla.

The kid's absolutely loved it, and we got a lot of repeat customers! A very fun, if very tiring afternoon. Well done, Team GG!

4 GoodGymers & apprentice Betsy strode around the streets of Copnor to deliver leaflets advertising The Shining Stars events.

We managed to avoid the barking dogs and the snapping letterboxes.

And we found the home growing the most interesting front-garden vegetables.

Kingston Rec is always a treasure trove for litter picking, so what better place for Round 2 of Litter Pick Bingo!

Rob joined us for his first official GoodGym task, after his usual Bad-Minton session had been sadly cancelled. In probably one of the wildest coincidence in litter pick history, we found one of the pin badges that Rob gives out at the training he delivers half-buried in dirt under a bench!

Katie was the first to claim "Bingo!" on her card, but was usurped when Jim came in close behind, but with an actual item of clothing, rather than a rubber glove!

Sinéad was first to fill her bag, and probably had the weirdest find with a full outfit and a wig, found in a bush. Katie did get the final prize for heaviest bag, thanks to a shopping basket and a metal post!

Dave had a "Dirty Dancing" moment, where he carried a watermelon, and Rob found a lone "Chess" piece, carrying on the musical theme.
