Tonight's group run had GoodGymers from Ealing and Hounslow fliering. Not in Acton though. Today the team was in the streets near Ealing Broadway Centre and The Library of Things that's based there.

Today's goal was to stop people worshipping at the altar of retail and spread the word about the Library of Things. Instead of buying items that people would use rarely, it offers items for rent to save people money and also reduce consumption and waste.

As well as Ealing Broadway Centre, there were real churches and grand buildings on the route too. On the way, the team snaked or leapfrogged (depending which GoodGym area was "home") along the streets of large houses, converted flats, steep stairs and dark passages. There was even an open gate to a private estate that was taken advantage of.

By raising the visibility of the Library of Things, perhaps Ealing's altar has been altered. Next time you walk past, there'll be people worshipping the locker and the items inside instead of the shop windows. 🙇‍♀️🙇🙇‍♂️

Three of us cleared a 5m+ width through the weeds to re-establish a 60m overgrown section of track not far off the main footpath that runs off the round about we usually meet at. This will make it more likely to be used by women as better visibility. The rain held off thankfully with some spits arriving late into the task. Some very excited beagles made a fuss when they spotted their friend, but he had no treats to give them this time.

Last people standing at the Hub are the people cleaning and packing everything away. Giles and Steph Ducat were joined by new comer to Goodgym Zine who took the cleaning and packing very seriously. Magical cleaning crew.

Jp arrived to help James and Steph Ducat at the grocery section and hand out bags of food to cook or snack bags for those without cooking facilties. Giles went to the clothing section and was guiding people to the different pieces of clothing they were aload including the t-shirts we normally see tourists buy. Jacquie was serving food in the sitting area. Today coronation chicken was served with a lemon couscous salad. Once all calmed down in the grocery and clothing section, Giles went to help in the kitchen to clean dishes and JP clean the grocery area. Steph was also clearing and helped in the foyer.
