These boots are made for sorting

Wednesday 20th March

Written by Emily Oldfield

Back at TRAID after their sale once again! Emily, Lee, Beatriz and Cherian arrived raring to go and immediately got to business getting clothes off the hangers and onto the floor. From the floor the clothes then got ceremoniously chucked into huge cardboard boxes and cages to be transported back to the warehouse. Next is everyone's favourite task - pairing up all the shoes. Sparkly heels and red trainers are a doddle but tens and tens of similar black women's shoes of slightly differing style is more of a challenge. But between us we got there in the end! Final task was blitzing the hangers chucking them all into boxes, and clearing the clothes rails to the side of the room to allow the team to do a big clean tomorrow while the store is closed. The store staff are always so grateful and it was definitely a big job well done!!

Hot Deals, Get it While it's Hot Hot Hot!

Tuesday 20th June 2023

Written by Emily Oldfield

We were a smaller group than usual with just Kat and Emily helping out this evening at the TRAID pack down after their end of season sale. Nonetheless we attacked the task head on, getting clothes off the hangers with lightening speed, and filled 5 big boxes in no time. We also packed away the hangers, and moved the rails to the side to make room for cleaning. The TRAID staff were grateful for our help as they were somewhat wilting after a hot and sticky day in the shop. Another satisfying visit to TRAID.

Fast Traid

Monday 14th November 2022

Written by Tabitha Skinner

Kilburn Traid had finished their regular sale so called on Goodgym Brent to help clear their stock , ready for a fresh delivery of clothes .

Amy arrived first and was shown what to do , take the clothes off the hangers , dropping them into piles … and don’t waste any time folding things neatly .

Tabitha and Lee arrived soon after and got to work , it was a successful sale so there weren’t too many clothes left . We had to stuff the piles of clothes into huge cardboard boxes ready to be sent to the next store .

Once the clothes were away we put away the hangers too . Becka and Pete joined us , and helped with the final sweep and tidy

The Traid team were very grateful for our help and would love for us to come again next time . This was Tabitha’s 200 mission so we celebrated the achievement across the road with a drink and chips !

Great job everyone

Back again at TRAID after their big sale, clearing the store ready for the new season's stock. Danny and Emily got stuck straight in with taking the clothes off the hangers, chucking the clothes in the big boxes, and packing up all the hangers. With many hands and some good tunes we got it done in an hour. Until next time TRAID!

Sales and Ales

Monday 15th November 2021

Written by Rebecca Marston

This week did a community mission at TRIAD charity clothes shop in Kilburn, to help clear out and tidy up their store ready to re stock.

We started by clearing the racks, and learnt that some Pisces folded clothes better than others. But it didn't matter when hauling them into the giant crates for collection the next day.

Then we did some more clear up: sorting clothes hangers in boxes, clearing the floor, and knocking down the SALE signs.

Rearranging the SALE signs pointed us to our next activity, which Pete showed up just in time for. The perks of an early task is an early finish and more time for the pub, where we celebrated the day with a couple of ALES (and fruity ciders).
