Organisations Sophie Demetriades has pledged to support
Well done to the Goodgym members who tackled the wind for a flyering time in Whiteway.
We delivered leaflets on behalf of AgeUk to notify the residents of the services provided during this difficult time.
Picture taken post flyering enjoying the view over the city.
Meet at the junction between Kelston Way and East Way.
It is imperative especially during lockdown that the elderly residents are Bath are aware of the services that can be provided by Age UK
The last delivery of leaflets had a very positive response and Age UK would like us to deliver more this month.
The area covered will be in the Whiteway area of Bath. Here are the roads:
*Kelston view *North Way *St Michaels road *East Way *East Close *West Close *Haycombe Drive *Windrush Close *Rosewarn Close *Blagdon Park
I will hand out the leaflets at the starting locations and we will head off individually to deliver the leaflets.
Sophie has completed their 15th good deed with GoodGym
A team of Goodgym volunteers arrived at Alice park on a sunny wintery day ready to get stuck in. Following a short briefing, we were allocated our socially distant spots, given the tools and the rest was up to us.
Doris dug the largest hole and slowly began to disappear into the trench
Helen had the clay to contend with, forking it over and collecting in buckets ready for the sack truck.
Whilst Sophie worked busily in the main garden
It took just 2 hours for us to complete the trench. Now ready for the community garden team to plant their yew trees.
The task owners were very impressed with our efforts and couldn't believe how much we achieved. Well done team, what a great way to start a Sunday!
Please note that this community mission has been cancelled.
Set in the stunning surroundings of Prior Park!
We will be helping the National Trust to maintain the grounds by gardening. We will be improving the access on footpaths, steps and doing fencing.
All tools will be provided, just bring your enthusiasm and smiles :)
I'll add more detail as it becomes available.
Moved to Sunday due to poor weather on Saturday
The community garden need to have a trench dug to plant new trees. The trees have already been purchased so this task cannot wait until after lockdown as they will die and therefore this task is considered essential to the garden. They cannot afford to pay for labour so volunteers are required.
Andy at St James and St Phillips' church has asked 4 of us to help him out. Him and his team of volunteers regularly cook meals for anyone in the community to enjoy for free, but given the current situation they are unable to host their meal at the church.
Instead, a team of volunteers are going to cook the meals and deliver them to people that are isolated and in need.
We will be delivering some of the meals. We will meet outside the church at 1235 and walk/jog with the food containers to people’s houses where we will leave the at the doorstep. Our delivery points are based near the church, and we will have to deliver a few each.
We will ensure to implement social distancing measures inline with GoodGym and government guidelines to stay safe. Please make sure refer to the GoodGym advice here.
Any questions please send me an email firstname.lastname@example.org, comment below or phone Andy on 07849169142
